Joe & Joe Weather Show Wednesday October 7, 2020  Hurricane Delta is in the Gulf of Mexico and is aiming for Louisana with a landfall late Friday. Hurricane Watch from High Island Texas to Grand Isle Louisiana. Warnings are likely to go up Thursday. In the Northeast a cold front produced severe weather over Upstate NY causing damage. Most of the rest of the US is enjoying quiet weather. We will look closely at Hurricane Delta and the potential impacts to Louisiana. The rains from Delta could move through Northeast and Mid Atlantic Sunday into Monday.

Weather in 5 Hurricane Delta is moving off the Yucatan Peninsula and heading toward the Louisiana coast with a landfall late Friday. Hurricane Watches will go up later today. Check NHC.NOAA.GOV for the latest. Meanwhile in the Northeast we have wind advisories and parts of Central New England have a High Wind Warning in effect as a fast moving cold front passes. No major weather issues Thursday through Saturday however by Sunday the remnant rains of Delta could be heading into the Mid Atlantic states and into the Northeast for Sunday night and Monday Columbus Day

Joe & Joe Weather Show Tuesday October 6, 2020 Hurricane Delta is a major hurricane with 140 mph winds. Hurricane Warnings for the Norther Yucatan Peninsula and Hurricane Watches will go up soon for portions of the Central Gulf Coast. A second major hurricane making landfall in Lousiana is a possibility late Friday or Friday night. The rains of Delta could eventually find there way into the Ohio & Tennessee Valleys as well as the Middle Atlantic states and possible parts of the  Northeast this Columbus Day weekend. In the meantime weather across the US is relatively quiet.

Weather in 5 Hurricane Delta continues to strengthen rapidly with winds 110 mph as of the 8am advisory. Conditions continue to favor strengthening and Delta will be a major hurricane later today. Hurricane warnings are up for the Northern Yucatan Peninsula and Western Cuba and watches will likely go up soon for the Central US Gulf coast. In the meantime nice weather dominates the weather pattern for the Eastern US with just minor systems impacting for the rest of the week. The Columbus Day holiday weekend is in question depending on what happens with the remnant rains from Hurricane Delta.

Weather in 5 the weather across the Northeast will be quiet all week with just a weak cold front on Wednesday. This will bring chilly air into the Northeast and Middle Atlantic states late this week. The Columbus Day holiday weekend outlook is muddled. Saturday looks sunny and warmer but Tropical Storm Delta, which will likely become a major hurricane Tuesday will be a threat to the Central Gulf Coast late week. For the weekend the question is whether the remnant rains head up the East Coast and bring rain Sunday or Monday, or the system gets suppressed to the south with heavy rains for the Southeast and Southern Mid Atlantic.

Joe & Joe Weather Show Sunday October 4, 2020 11am Our weekend continues to move along quietly with no major issues other than some clouds later today. A weak weather system passes across the Great Lakes and interior Northeast tonight with a few showers while a wave passes offshore with a shower or two near the coast. Rain will be heavy at times over Central and South Florida as moisture from Tropical Storm Gamma streams northeastward. The storm will likely be stuck in the Gulf of Mexico all week long. The week ahead across most of the US looks to be on the quiet side but some much needed rain is coming to the West Coast.

Weather in 5, Tropical Storm Gamma is emerging into the Gulf of Mexico however it is likely to be stuck in the Gulf all week with a weak upper flow. The weather this week across the Northeast and Mid Atlantic states looks to be quiet for the most part with no major storms and just weak weather fronts moving through. The end of the week however looks to be rather chilly.

Weather in 5 on a dry cool weekend across much of the Northeast & Middle Atlantic states. The weather across most of the US is quiet. Next week we continue to live in a west northwest flow from Canada with mostly weak weather systems moving through every couple of days with cool air masses behind each weather front. Tropical Storm Gamma is in the Northwest Caribbean moving onshore on the Yucatan Peninsula with an uncertain future once it heads into the Gulf of Mexico.

Weather in 5 A cold front is moving through the Northeast with some showers this morning giving way to improving weather conditions over the weekend. Look for a dry cool weekend in the Eastern US. Another low brings a chance for some rain Sunday night into Monday in the Northeast. Much of the nation's weather is on the quiet side. Low pressure is developing in the Northwest Caribbean and it is likely to become a tropical depression or tropical storm later today into tonight. A weak upper air pattern leads to lots of uncertainty regarding track and strength of this system in the long range.

Joe & Joe Weather Show Thursday October 1, 2020 It is mostly dry and quiet to start the month of October. Some showers around the Great Lakes and in South Florida. Otherwise much of the US is dry and quiet. The weekend looks dry and cool in the Northeast & Middle Atlantic states for the most part. Low pressure is developing in the Western Caribbean and it is likely that a tropical depression or a tropical storm will form there this weekend.
