Released in 2019, 'Godzilla: KOTM' had a good run at the box office; grossing $386.6 million, however, it didn’t get as much high praise from critics as its 2014 predecessor.

Though the film does have some extremely good highlights, with its terrific visual and special effects for the monster action, as well as gorgeous cinematography, the sequel for me was underwhelming with its story and characters – and at times felt like a bit of a rewrite of what we had seen before.

Directed by Ben Affleck and starring Matt Damon, ‘Air’ brings the story of how Nike managed to create the iconic Air Jordan trainer for the, then rookie, Michael Jordan – and the rest they say is history!

I have to say that the script and performances are absolutely excellent – there’s no filler, no fat, and you’re hanging off every sequence. Given the films simple premise, this film is a perfect example that you don’t need huge explosions or CGI, and that if you have a great story and great actors giving excellent performances, the film is going to be a success.

'Dungeons and Dragons: Honour Among Thieves' is now out in cinemas everywhere. Written and directed by the team behind 2018’s ‘Game Night’, things are taken to a whole new level with this adaptation of the popular board game – and though they had some interesting ideas and concepts, overall, I sadly wasn’t its biggest fan.

This fantasy heist flick has a great cast who all have bright moments, and aided with some brilliant cinematography, the film has its high points - but with every high point, the film has pretty big low ones too.

It’s been a minute, but we are back talking about the Baba Yaga on the podcast as 'John Wick: Chapter 4' has finally hit cinemas and is literally kicking ass on all fronts. The film has grossed an incredible $137.5 Million in its first weekend worldwide, already making its budget back of $100 million. Everyone loves Mr Wick.

The stakes are raised even higher for this latest instalment; Wick is angry, and is taking on the High Table in the hope for his freedom – queue the gunfire! The scope in Chapter 4 is massive. With extraordinary set pieces and glorious cinematography, on top of outrageous stunt work, JW4 puts itself firmly in the list of best action films made.

If you want peace, prepare for war – and John Wick: Chapter 3 is ALL out war. Diving more and more into the lore of the underworld, Chapter 3 has fantastic scope, as well as action sequences that are some of the biggest the franchise has. With adjudicators, ninjas and plenty of bullets, JW3 grossed $327.3 Million at the box office globally making it the best received Wick so far.

Directed once again by Chad Stahelski, 'John Wick: Chapter 2' goes in bigger and bloodier than the first. Not only do we get some extraordinary set pieces, including my personal favourite of the entire saga; The Room of Mirrors, but we also dive further into the ‘Wick-verse’, elaborating on The Continental and the High Table. Chapter 2 grossed $171.5 million at the box office, earning twice as much as John Wick 1 – easy to see why Chapter 3 was eventually greenlit!

We have finally reached the conclusion of the first series for 'The Last Of Us', and I have been saying regularly just how much I have enjoyed this adaptation! The finale brings together yet again top performances and cinematography, all the while leading us to an exciting action set piece for its final moments. Pascal and Ramsey once again steal every scene they’re in, however, I did find myself for the first time this season, a little underwhelmed with the episode and how it was all done and dusted rather quickly

Taking nothing away though from what has been a remarkable first season of the show, it has blown my socks of plenty of times during this run and I cannot wait for more

The sequel to the 'requel'… 'Scream VI' has taken audiences and the box office by STORM. Credit to the creative team collectively known as 'Radio Silence', as I feel they were really unshackled on this instalment. 'Scream VI' does still fit the mould of a Scream movie – with its classic meta horror/humour etc, however, they managed to breathe new life into the franchise with this instalment - whilst still honouring the film franchise as a whole. It is easily my favourite since 'Scream 2', OR it could easily be the best Scream since the original

Adam Driver crash lands on earth 65 million years ago – and dino sci-fi action unfolds…ish.

'65' has such a great premise and concept that from the trailer I was all on board. Its just a shame that though the film has good Dino action and some excellent suspense, it is a tad dull. The film mainly centres around the relationship between Driver and young co-star Greenblatt, which is fine – but this at times sucks the air from the film, and also left me questioning ‘where the heck are these dinosaurs?’

Released in 2014, 'John Wick' stood out amongst the many mindless action films audiences had seen over the years. With some top performances and incredibly choreographed fights (and of course, plenty of gunfire), John Wick has become many peoples favourite hero – spawning sequel after sequel and only getting better with each release. With Chapter 4 due at the end of March, I thought I’d revisit the films to get even more excited for the return of the Baba Yaga on the big screen
