It’s episode 100!.. and you’re gonna need a bigger boat. Celebrating the landmark by revisiting and discussing my all-time favourite film, helmed by the incredible Steven Spielberg, 'JAWS' – creating the first ever summer blockbuster in the process!

What starts out as a typical 'teens go to spend the weekend in a cabin' scary movie, 'The Cabin in the Woods' takes some sinister, but fun, twists. This film blew my little mind back in 2011, with its meta horror, as well as showcasing it’s many influences. Serving as almost a love letter to the classics, 'The Cabin in the Woods' ticks a lot of boxes, as well as mixes things up and reinvigorates the genre in fantastic fashion. The muchly anticipated spin off to Game of Thrones, 'House of the Dragon' has finally hit screens recently, and after 5 episodes I am HOOKED. The performances from Milly Alcock, Matt Smith & Paddy Considine - along with a fantastic supporting cast - have all been tremendous, as too the writing for this season. In this extended episode - I’m joined by my good friend Jamie W, as we discuss as much as we can about the season so far. Spoilers within!

We love a good murder mystery don’t we! ‘See How They Run’ takes us back to the 50s for this whodunnit flick, as the cast of Agatha Christie’s ‘The Mousetrap’ begin to fall at the hands of a mysterious killer – enter Sam Rockwell and Saoirse Ronan to solve the crime (Ronan absolutely steels the show with her performance). Directorial debut for Tom George who straight away shows the audience his influences (Mr Wes Anderson would be extremely pleased with the aesthetics), and brings us a great time at the movies as the story unfolds. We return to Middle Earth as we discuss the first 3 episodes of the new series that has just hit Amazon Prime; 'The Rings of Power'. LOTR is easily one of my favourite stories and film sagas, and as mentioned previously, I have been a little unsure how this series would go. Safe to say it’s been a little bumpy, however there has been a lot to enjoy within the first 3 episodes – especially visually if not always the story. Finally managed to check out the latest release from the Russo Brothers, starring Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans and Ana De Armas; 'The Gray Man'. The film has SO many different locations as well as plenty of action to digest, and excellent performances from its leads. However, it can be a little over facing at times, and the film does feel longer than its runtime, but overall, I enjoyed this action/spy flick. Full thoughts in this episode

After being recommended by so many, I finally caught ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ at the weekend. I am extremely late to the party, however I very much enjoyed this sci fi/action flick starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt from 2014 – both putting in some excellent performances, as well as great chemistry between the two of them. The film has a familiar sense with its influences, however, it has something new and refreshing about it – and also feels like you're playing a video game. Catch full thoughts in this weeks ep

Sylvester Stallone’s latest film 'Samaritan' finds him playing Joe Smith, a retired superhero known as Samaritan, laying low following a battle many years ago that cost the life of his twin brother, and villain, Nemesis. Stumbling into his life is young starry-eyed Sam Cleary, who still believes in superheroes – and believes Joe is in fact Samaritan. The films tone is a little all over the place, and though there is good chemistry with Stallone’s Joe and Walton’s Sam, everything else is very flat and forgettable. On the back of his excellent work with 'Monsters' in 2010, Gareth Edwards was handed the director’s chair for 'Godzilla'- and what a job he did. This film was one I was extremely excited for, being a big fan of the title character, and I was not disappointed. From the special effects, the score, the performances (in particular Cranston’s), 'Godzilla' became one of my all-time favourites- and one that I’ve wanted to chat about for a while! Jordan Peele’s latest release ‘Nope’ seems to be dividing fans and audiences. Having finally checked this out, I came out of the screening super impressed with his take on the sci-fi genre. It is an extremely refreshing and original story that will only get better on each viewing. With excellent imagery, cinematography, performances, and score, ‘Nope’ is definitely one of my favourite releases this year. Full thoughts in this episode
