Johari Window and the Enneagram: Knowing Your Blind Spots

Listen Later

We all have blind spots. The Johari Window is a tool for finding them.

Damon and Kelly walk through the Johari Window, a four-quadrant framework from psychology that maps what you know about yourself, what others know, what's hidden, and what's still unknown. Then they connect it to the Enneagram, exploring how each type can use this tool for self-awareness and healthier relationships.

Along the way, Kelly introduces her Feeling Words Vocabulary process: name the feeling, name why, name the truth. A simple practice that helps you deal with your feelings instead of your feelings dealing with you.

You'll hear how the gut triad (Types 8, 9, and 1) each handle anger differently, why "I'm wondering about this" is a more loving way to point out a blind spot than "you should," and where the word Johari actually comes from (it's not as exotic as it sounds).

A practical conversation for anyone who wants to know themselves better and let trusted people speak into the parts they can't see.
