Evangelical Christian leadership in America are dutifully encouraging us all to just give in and get “the shot.” Earlier this week, Pastor John Piper urges us to take advantage of our freedom in Christ, and “get the vaccine.” What? What’s that mean? We are, says Pastor Piper, free from fear of peer pressure to get the shot, trust the science, trust the government, and trust the data. Isn’t the fear of pressure coming from political institutions, risks of losing your job, etc. a little more of a potential problem than fearing those few people who aren’t getting the shot? Should we be more insistent to obtain a margin of freedom from big government mandates than grabbing onto the “freedom” to put fetal-tissue derived cell lines and foreign mRNA concoctions into our veins? Shall we be more concerned about big government control than nasty microbes like Smallpox and COVID? That’s what the older Christian leadership (as for example, Abraham Kuyper) used to say. And where is this thing going? If government has control over what chemicals you put in your body. . . the government can force you into abortifacients, day afters, and chemical abortions. Are you ready for this?
