God is not only strong enough to defeat the false pagan deities of the Babylonians, but He can snatch them from bondage and carry them away home gently and tenderly in His everlasting Shepherd arms. 

How we need this assurance in the weary world of woe in which we wage spiritual warfare today. 

How we need a strong and gentle shepherd to love and lead us in our lonely journey between here and the hereafter.

If you want God to move in your life, then you must be willing to focus on him.

 Full attention is required if you want God to move.  

The word says, draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you (James 4:8).  

Are you ready for him to do something in your life?

When love and faith come together, then there is a blessed sweet communion. These two become the double channel through which the Holy Spirit’s influence flows forth daily, making the disciple grow up more fully unto Christ Jesus into all things.

Holy means allowing God to guide and direct our paths through His Holy Spirit. There is nothing we can do to make ourselves holy, but through the power of God’s Holy Spirit in us, we can overcome the wrong pulls of sin and begin to walk in the holy way of God with Jesus’ guiding, instead of the way of the world. That is the way to remain holy.

Why does God allow us to suffer? 

So that we will see and know that we know that he is the deepest desire of our heart. 

So that we will come to the place where he alone will satisfy our hearts and we are ruined for anything in this world that would seek the place above him.

Let us understand that the season of the trial will not last forever. The Lord will bring us through, though it may seem like it will never end.

The beauty that results from God's transfiguration shines everywhere -

as I speak to you, wherever you may be listening to it - whether it's at your home or in your car, at the gym, or in a prison or a hospital, or some far off continent - it happens anytime and anywhere God enters in and changes our lives. 

It happens because we are loved, forgiven, accepted.

Sovereignty reminds us that God is God and we are not. When we think we’re ready to advise God on how to run the universe, he just looks at us and says, “don't forget, I'm the Potter, your the clay.”

Someone has said, "I think we all have empathy.  We may not have enough courage to display it.”  

Maybe we do need courage—the courage demonstrated by the Good Samaritan—to show our empathy to others, especially those who are different from us.  

Should that be the case, then may our prayer be this: “God, grant me the wisdom, and God grant me the courage, to empathize with the pain and suffering of others, even as I want others to empathize with me. Amen.”

The Bible teaches that Heaven will be a happy home. I know many beautiful homes that are not happy. They are homes made beautiful by everything that culture and wealth can do, yet there is something wrong, something lacking. They are homes that bring to mind the wise man’s words: “Better is a dry morsel with quietness than a house full of feasting with strife” (Proverbs 17:1).

What a beautiful promise God has made us! As long as this world spins, the sun will rise, seeds will bear crops and the seasons shall remain as trustworthy old friends. Yes, life can be unpredictable – but God’s compassions never fail. “Great is thy faithfulness!” (Lamentations 3:23)
