The True Spirit of Christmas will lead us like the shepherds, to bend our knees and find a quiet time to reflect how much love God has bestowed upon us.

Many of us would get serious about our relationship with Christ if we weren’t preoccupied with careers, managing families, chasing goals and dreams, materialistic pursuits.

To believe in Christmas is to believe in;

Something supernatural.

Something totally out of the ordinary.

Something humanly unexplainable.

Christians believe God invaded our world in the form of a tiny baby boy. 

That’s a stunning thought, if you think about it, which we rarely do.

Isaiah 41:10 NIV  “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Soon we will celebrate the central miracle of the Christian faith: the birth of Jesus Christ. Theologians call this the Incarnation, which means “to take the form of human flesh.”

What the shepherds did change their lives. They became new creatures in Christ Jesus. What the Gospel did for them, it will do for you!

At Christmas we take the time and make the effort to acknowledge our fellow man in the manner that we should all year long.

When the angel said, “Nothing is impossible with God” (Luke 1:37), Mary took a deep breath and replied, “May it be to me as you have said.”

We should not be surprised that after all these centuries, the family is still a central focus at the time when we are celebrating the birth of the Son of God.

When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
