To close out hour one of this Thursday edition of The Jon Chuckery Show, Chuckery talks about all things Atlanta Falcons with Falcons beat reporter for the Athletic, Tori McElhaney. Jon starts things off by asking Tori what she expects to see tomorrow night, and who she expects to see tomorrow night. Tori responds by saying “I expect to see a lot of those bubble guys tomorrow night.” Tori also says “I expect to see a lot of vanilla.” To finish her thought Tori says “Who gets thrown out tomorrow night, when they get thrown out, and who they get thrown out with among this offensive line group is something I will be especially watching out for.” Next, Jon asks Tori if we should expect to see Dante Fowler Jr. tomorrow night. Tori responds by saying “I think a little bit...I think it will be good for Dante to get some reps tomorrow night.” Chuckery keeps things rolling by asking Tori if there is anything behind Felipe Franks challenging AJ Maccrron for the backup quarterback spot, or if the job is AJ’s. Tori responds by saying “To be completely straight forward I think AJ is the backup and there isn’t much competition.” Tori finishes her thought by saying “Felipe has the look, but as far as experience goes I tend to lean more towards AJ.” Next, Jon asks Tori if she thinks Kyle Pitts will see the field at any point tomorrow. Tori responds by saying “I think we will see him early.” Tori finishes her thought by saying “Don’t worry about what you saw on the depth chart. Kyle Pitts has been lining up everywhere on the field in practice.” Next, Chuck asks Tori who has been catching her eye in training camp, and Tori names guys like Richie Grant, Javion Hawkins, and others. Next, Tori and Chuck talk about the punting and punt return situation for the Falcons and how that might shake out throughout the preseason. Finally, Chuck wraps things up by asking Tori how the running back room behind Mike Davis might shape out. Tori responds by saying “Quadre Ollison will probably be the second back behind Davis, but Javion Hawkins could be a really nice change of pace back.” “He is not like Davis and Ollison in size, but he is fast and elusive.”
