Georgia Tech Beat Writer for the AJC Ken Sugiura joined Jon Chuckery to talk about a number of interesting stories going on right now at Georgia Tech.

Sugiura on why this whole Coach MaChelle Joseph scandal took 16 years to come out, “Players were saying that she was abusive and she was a bully. The kids were in a position that their playing time and their scholarships were in coach’s control. It’s all speculative right now but no one came out and told anyone.”

Sugiura on Josh Pastner’s status right now, “He said by year 5 that they should have things rolling. You want to see some level of improvement whether it’s NIT or whatever it may be.”

Sugiura on whether Ron Hunter was every reached out to by Georgia Tech, “I never heard his name but I don’t hear every name. There were a couple of names but his name never came up.”

Sugiura then talked about the state of Georgia Tech Football right now.

Atlanta Braves beat writer for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Gabe Burns joined Jon Chuckery Saturday to recap the team’s Opening Day loss to the Philadelphia Phillies and preview the next two games of this series between these teams.

[0:27] Burns on timetables for A.J. Minter, Mike Foltynewicz and Darren O’Day to return to the roster, “We could see Minter in the next week. As far as Folty (Mike Foltynewicz) goes that is more of a mid-to-late April situation. He will need a couple of more starts. Darren O’Day is a complete unknown at this point.”

[1:18] Burns on how Brian Snitker will handle Ender Inciarte moving forward if he continues to struggle, “He really does want to see it work with Ender. If leadoff becomes a problem, he will move some things around but Snitker will stick with this lineup through April and see how things pan out.”

[2:49] Burns on Julio Teheran’s future with the Atlanta Braves, “In an ideal world the Braves will pick up Teheran’s option in the offseason and trade him in the winter. He does have value. He is an innings eater that stays healthy. It would be a pretty big surprise if his next contract is with the Braves.”
