He is a self-described “everyday guy” who is passionate about connecting with others, communicating, leveraging new media & cultivating a community of like-minded citizens.

He is co-founder of the Podcast Movement — the first, and only one that I know of, conference solely based around podcasting. My guest and his co-founders came up with the idea, took it to Kickstarter looking for $11,000 in funding — and received $31,854 from 281 backers.

They did all of this without an email list or pre-existing list of any sorts. All they had was people they could reach out to for support.

600 people attended in August and I unfortunately didn’t make it to the Podcast Movement in 2014, but I will absolutely be there in 2015 and I hope to see some of you HTE Hackers there too!

My guest is also the host of Starve The Doubts. Starve the Doubts was a huge inspiration for me when creating Hack The entrepreneur and I cannot recommend it enough to you.

He is also an author and much sought-after speaker on new media.

Jared Easley.

Today’s guest started his entrepreneurial journey after dropping out of college, getting a job and then being downsized in his early twenties.

He made some sacrifices, began investing in real estate, and realized he had a knack for it.

He went on to buy a franchise and put up billboards all over the city saying, “We Buy Ugly Houses.” He grew that business to be his first million dollar business and then sold it.

He then took some of the money and bought two retail stores. At one point each business was doing over $1 million dollars in revenue.

And before he knew it, he had become a true entrepreneur; The only problem was he was working 80+ hours per week and couldn’t scale.

He decided to design his life first and then build a business strategy around it — this is how it should be done — and he started buying online businesses, increasing their value and potential and selling them.

He has now purchased over 10 businesses and he is only getting started.

He is the founder of Stoic Financial — a real estate investment firm in the Washington DC area.

Today’s guest is one of my all-time favourite writers. I never go more than a few months without rereading his book Choose Yourself.

He is an American hedge fund manager, entrepreneur, bestselling author, blogger and podcaster.

He has founded or cofounded over 20 companies and 17 have failed. He sold one for $15 million and spent all of the money — all of it. Then he built and sold another within its first year for $10 million.

He fails quickly. He fails frequently.

He claims Entrepreneurship is a sentence of failures punctuated by brief success. He is invested in about 28 private companies. He advises about another 50 private companies — companies ranging from $0 in revenues to a billion in revenues.

This conversation is long than usual but you will not even notice because not a second is wasted.
