For the month of May, Mental Health Awareness Month, our host, Desiree Duar, invites four families from various cultural backgrounds—one each week—to discuss their struggles and triumphs with mental health issues in the family and communities.
The program is designed to be light-hearted, welcoming children as guests because their perspective is vital to the family unit. Since difficulties often affect children even more than adults, Desiree wanted to hear directly from every family member.
The atmosphere is informal, fostering open and free expression so guests feel comfortable. Plus, Desiree herself relates to many of the topics discussed.
This podcast is here to serve. Please feel free to leave your comments, suggestions, and questions. We'll do our best to reply by the end of the month, if not sooner. Your responses, sent back via email, are greatly appreciated.
Please feel free to support our channel and thank you for listening. God bless you, and God bless America.—

"For Mental Health Awareness Month, host Desiree Duar is providing additional self-help and outreach services for listeners and anyone seeking help, guidance, or strengthening support to overcome addiction. Reaching out—whether by phone, online, or email—is the best way to start. Contact a person or friend you can confide in. The most important thing is taking that first step toward recovery or continuing from where you last started. It is okay if you stopped and want to start again now; we want you to succeed. That is the goal of Journey into Mental Health."
A sad story yet to be concluded, but troubling to the mind. Especially for the family of Celeste Hernandez, who have been waiting for answers since 2022 - 2024. Their 13 year old daughter went missing and now almost 3 to 4 years later, they are still waiting for answers. A deep family lost and definitely one of the more difficult episodes to discuss during Mental Health Awareness month. Follow along with us as the story unfolds. What a tragedy for both the artist and the victim, not to mention the horrible discovery for her family. Thank you for your support and for listening. Your comments and poll responses are greatly appreciated.

Listening audience, it's important to note that when leaving an abusive situation, it is one of the bravest things a person can do, but you don't have to navigate it alone. This episode is dedicated to the lifeline services that exist to support survivors.
We break down how to find local advocates, what to expect when calling a hotline, and how to utilize community resources that offer everything from emergency shelter to long term healing. It's not just about surviving, it's about finding the support system that helps you thrive in your new chapter.
