The Ministry of Public Enterprises has served notice that it will privatize non-performing state agencies if they fail to turn the tide. The decision follows a 2020 State Ownership Report released by the Finance Ministry which recorded a GH₵5.3 billion loss by State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).

Former Finance Minister Dr Kwabena Duffuor is set to launch a National Democratic Congress (NDC) grassroots empowerment and self-financing Project dubbed the ‘NDC Ahotɔ Project’ for the grassroots. ‘Ahotɔ’ means relief in the Akan language. As a result, the Bill, which was passed by Parliament on Tuesday, has now become a binding law which will be operationalized as a revenue measure across the country.

President Akufo-Addo has touted his government to have amassed the greatest achievement in the road sector since he assumed office in 2017 in the history of Ghana. The President, while delivering the 2022 State of the Nation Address on Wednesday, said his government has constructed some 10,875 kilometers of new roads within the five years he has been in office.
