Investments by the provincial and federal governments will support renovations and upgrades to the Swallowtail Lighthouse on Grand Manan Island.

“The Swallowtail Lighthouse is an iconic New Brunswick landmark that attracts and welcomes visitors to Grand Manan Island,” said Réjean Savoie, minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation. “We are pleased to support the restoration of this important tourism infrastructure, and we appreciate the work of the volunteers at the Swallowtail Keepers Society.”

The project involves work on the lighthouse itself, as well as the lightkeeper’s building.

In September, Canada’s PNP programs have done very well. PNP's happen to be the best possible way to obtain a Canadian Permanent Residence through nominations as the numbers far exceed EE Picks. The month, 6 picked over 8,554 people for possible PNP nominations for this month. The Provinces include Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec. The PNP program offers Provinces the choice of selecting their own residents. Most funded services for citizens are offered by Provinces to their residents like Health Care and Education.

Alberta’s economy has momentum, and more skilled labourers are needed to support the province’s workforce, especially in the construction industry. To meet growing demand for highly skilled tradespeople across sectors, and in response to feedback from post-secondaries and industry, Alberta’s government is increasing capacity for skilled trades training.

This funding is in addition to the $15 million over three years announced earlier this year, which added more than 1,000 additional apprenticeship spaces, bringing the total funding for apprenticeship training in 2023-24 to $54.4 million.

By expanding apprenticeship opportunities, Alberta’s government is empowering students to pursue rewarding careers while sustaining the growth and momentum of Alberta’s skilled trades labour market.

Many Albertans rely on public transportation to help them get to work, appointments and attend recreational activities. To help combat high inflation, Alberta’s government introduced additional funding in February to provide low-income Albertans with more affordable access to transit service.

In addition to Edmonton and Calgary, 10 Alberta communities have low-income transit passes. With this additional funding and to reduce financial barriers to transit, low-income Albertans in Camrose, Hinton, Leduc, Lethbridge, Red Deer and Spruce Grove will now be able to apply for a low-income transit pass.

SAINT JOHN (GNB) – The provincial government is congratulating the North Shore Mi’kmaq Tribal Council on signing an equity deal with Moltex Energy Canada and ARC Clean Technology Canada.

“I am pleased to see this collaboration and partnership on such an important energy file," said Natural Resources and Energy Development Minister Mike Holland. “Small modular reactors (SMRs) will help us reduce our carbon emissions and provide reliable energy for New Brunswickers for years to come.”

Holland said SMRs have tremendous potential to generate clean and low-cost energy for both on-grid and off-grid communities, helping connect more remote and rural areas of the province, including the mining and manufacturing sectors.

Your work experience in one of the following NOCs must be listed as your primary NOC in your Express Entry profile:

NOC 31102 - General practitioners and family physicians
NOC 31300 - Nursing coordinators and supervisors
NOC 31301 - Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses
NOC 32101 - Licensed practical nurses
NOC 33102 - Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates
You may apply to this stream if you received a notification of interest on September 26, 2023.
