Dr. Christian’s CornerMerry Christmas everyone. I love this time of year. My inner kid gets excited to create and experience wonder. Tonight is the 29th Annual Candlelight Service I’ll be leading at Seaside. You are my family and there is no other place I'd rather be than here at home with you for the holidays. The Candlelight Service was inspired by my parents' 45 years of Christmas Eve parties they had with family and friends. Our style is not necessarily the traditional one. It’s more like sitting around in our living room with the children running around, singing carols together, having some solos sung and some of the kids performing. We’ll have Dr. Jim back tonight reading to the children “Twas The Night Before Christmas” before Rebecca leads them in Jingle Bells. Who will be the Drummer Child this year, and who will be the Partridge? It will be fun tonight, so bring friends and get ready for some laughs and tears... definitely, some memories will be made with your spiritual family. ~ In Love, Rev. Christian

Is There Room? is the message today from Rev. Christian Sorensen on this Sunday, December 15, 2019, affirming I have room for Spirit in my life!
Today we welcomed back the awesome talent of singer/songwriter Jami Lula who can be found on his website or on his Facebook page.
The complete service can be viewed here on our YouTube channel at Seaside Center for Spiritual Living.
Dr. Christian’s CornerI remember as a child, my empathetic heart always wondering about the Jesus story and how it was possible that a woman who was about to give birth would be made to stay in the stable? As I grew, I came to understand the metaphor more clearly–that no room at the inn was about a message for us today. We can get so caught up in the busyness and stories of our life that we have no room for the birth of greater awareness or the “Christ Consciousness.” One of the beauties of this season is it reminds us to slow down, create room, be available for the birth of a greater possibility and the glory of God in our life! ~ In Love, Rev. Christian

Dr. Christian’s CornerGreat going Seaside! Our goal was to accumulate 200 bikes for the children of North County who otherwise would be going without, then have them distributed through the Community Resource Center Holiday Baskets project at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Seaside gathered more than 250 bikes for our local children – Thank You for a huge success!
This season of Joy and Light reminds us to pause and remember the reason for the season. The world we walk in is filled with the Gifts of the Divine...and this includes you. Your presence and contributions to Seaside have been a tremendous blessing this year. Thank you for all the love you shared! I want to let you know Kalli and other guests will be joining me to create the Midweek Healing Service on Wednesday the18th to ritualize the winter Solstice. It will be a special Wednesday for sure! Mark your calendars and share with everyone you know the great Candlelight Celebration of Seaside, December 22 at 7:00 pm. It’s our 29th one together and you won’t want to miss the family fun. Who will be the Partridge this year? Who will be the Drummer Child? Will the guys really sing that crazy "Boston Charlie" song again? ~ In Love, Rev. Christian

Dr. Christian’s CornerCrazy to think it’s December already! Yet our tree on the stage is a pretty good indicator that we are committed to moving into the Joy of this season. Are you ready for greater joy, a happier heart and more love in your life? This morning I’ll be inviting us to get our soul in place to be receptive to the invitations of Spirit to join in the abounding joy of the upcoming season. Always a wise choice to decide early that it’s going to be a great holiday season. A big shoutout of appreciation to all who joined in yesterday to create the festive feel around Seaside. ~ In Love, Rev. Christian

The Grateful Heart is the message today from Rev. Debbie McDonnell on this Sunday, November 24, 2019, affirming I am grateful for all of life!
Today we welcome for the first time Mercedes Moore who shared her spirit, talent and wonderful voice with us all! She can be found on her website Mercedes Moore Band.
Dr. Christian’s CornerRev. Debbie McDonnell was a big part of Seaside for fifteen years, having led the Wednesday night services as well as having been on staff for years before she was called away to the Monterey Center for Spiritual Living as their Senior Minister. It’s a joy to welcome her back home for the next six months! She has come to "play" with us and head up Finance and Operations between her pulpit assignments, which will be at least until Easter. It’s interesting to think that I asked Rev. Debbie last summer to speak today before we even knew she’d be back at Seaside.
I wish each of you a glorious Thanksgiving! You are such an important part of my "gratitude list." My daily prayers always include my appreciation for our Seaside Family and what we have created here together and how we are here for each other. ~ In Love, Rev. Christian

Dr. Christian’s CornerWe are like every other family who plans a budget for the upcoming year. This is the time we ask you, our family and friends, what your thoughts are about your financial support for our Spiritual Home in the upcoming year. Your Board of Trustees will take this collective input and use it to put together an informed 2020 budget based on the intentions of this community. Every time I’m handed the pledge list throughout the year, each person receives my prayers. I recognize the partnership we have forged and know the Good that is manifesting in your life and the lives of those who have aligned with Seaside as their spiritual community. I know rich blessings continue to expand for those who have placed God first. This kind of commitment brings peace and security that comes when one turns to Spirit first in all aspects of living. Remembering Spirit first in good times helps one experience the Presence in challenging times. It is this consistency that has us turning to God rather than fear when our world shakes. ~ In Love, Rev. Christian
