Friday night Dr. Jean introduced all of us to a new version of the Hero and Heroine's journey that both deepens and expands our understanding of our new roles and opportunities. Now many of us are in a powerful two-day workshop deepening our realizations of unexpected alliances, spiritual awakenings, and unforeseen challenges that are being graced by timely wisdom.

Mata Amritanandamayi, also known as Amma the Hugging Saint, was born in a remote coastal village in Kerala, South India in 1953 .

Growing up in India, Amma was deeply affected by the profound suffering she witnessed. According to Hinduism, the suffering of the individual is due to his or her own karma - the results of actions performed in the past.

Amma accepted this concept, but she refused to accept it as a justification for inaction. Amma contemplated the principle of karma until she revealed an even more profound truth, asking a question she continues to ask each of us today: “If it is one man’s karma to suffer, isn’t it our dharma (duty) to help ease his suffering and pain?” Amma’s ministry has been one of compassion and love. Most people go to Amma to experience her embrace, which is her unique way of spreading comfort to the world. She doesn’t come our way very often, but it’s interesting to note that she'll be in L.A. next month. ~ In Love, Rev. Christian

Wow, what a week! We’ve just launched our Annual Prosperity Series with Passport to Prosperous Living. Did you bring your passport today to get stamped, take notes, and get your passport picture taken if you didn’t do it last Sunday? Marianne Williamson filled our house on Tuesday evening with lots of passion and people. My Wednesday Midweek Healing Ritual has taken off with its gentler inward direction to Wholeness. We’ve got Jean Houston coming Friday, November 1 as well as her Saturday and Sunday afternoon workshop for those who want to experience what world leaders have hired her to do. Today is also the drop-off day for our support of Humble Design, the organization that helps furnish new living spaces for those families leaving homelessness. ~ In Love, Rev. Christian

We are looking at her book today, The Path Made Clear: Discovering Your Life's Direction and Purpose. We will be using it as a basis of our Sacred Circles over the next six weeks. Big shoutout of appreciation to our Board of Directors who paid and hosted the incredible Fiesta last Sunday. The appreciation party was in your honor to celebrate all your love and support for Seaside this year. Susan Sullivan organized the event which fed over 200 people, most staying to enjoy the free Kinnie Dye concert. It was a lot of fun partying with you! 

This morning’s message is to remind us that the path to Spirit doesn’t have to be stress-filled. Drama often is a common experience when one is not at ease, or in dis-ease. Today's message is to inspire us to know there is another choice on the path of revealing wholeness. In support of wholeness, I will be leading a weekly Midweek Healing Ritual starting Wednesday night, October 9. It will be a service where you have an opportunity to light candles, meditate, engage in dialogue, and make your prayer request known for me to pray. ~ In Love, Rev. Christian.

I love the subject of Grace! It is how Seaside has unfolded—by the Grace of God! We’ve literally gone with “God knows how.” Our opportunity is always to catch God’s vision of what’s possible. We do that by making ourselves available to be in service to that vision. Healing happens by the Grace of God, but we must have space for Spirit to enter the equation. Are you humble enough to trust a higher vision to lead your way, because God’s Grace is sufficient?

This is the week the spiritual classes of Seaside begin. I’m teaching the Foundations class on Tuesday evening. This is where I share the Ten Core Spiritual Principles and Practices which help integrate them into your daily life. If you ever wanted to delve deeper into an understanding of the Core Concepts of our Philosophy, then starting this Tuesday evening, for the next ten weeks, come and explore with me. You’ll develop wonderful relationships with your classmates and I’ll have the chance to get to know you better. If you’ve taken the Foundations class, then Deb Sadler, RScP, who heads up our Education Department, will introduce students to the philosophers that influenced our Founder, Ernest Holmes. You’ll find the roots of Religious Science were inspired by people like Ralph Waldo Emerson, Judge Thomas Troward, and Emma Curtis Hopkins. I missed you guys. Did you even notice I was gone? I trust you enjoyed a couple of wonderful speakers in Rev. Brian Anderson and Rev. Catherine Bonin. The class season is upon us! Hard to believe we are winding down on summer and embracing the back to school energy. Ernest Holmes would say that Religious Science is a teaching philosophy. It has always been about healing from the day of its conception.

If you’ve ever wondered how to take these Spiritual Principles and apply them in your life to heal or enhance any particular area, then get enrolled in one of our classes. It all begins with the Foundations Class where I’ll be sharing with you, on Tuesday evenings, the 10 Core Concepts of our teaching. It’s fun to welcome Rev. Catherine Bonin back to the stage here at Seaside after her successful fun, five-week class based on Hitchcock movies. Rev. Catherine is a wonderful example of someone who started her early Religious Science classes at Seaside and then went on to do her Practitioner studies to become a Licensed Practitioner at Seaside. Then she continued to take and complete her ministerial training on our campus and she has gone on to bring her light and gifts to the world.
