  • Managing Your Workload as a Freelancer | JRP DAILY 165

Whether you have goals to remain a freelancer for life, or aspirations to become an entrepreneur, you will have to know how to manage a workload when it comes your way.

The reality is that being just a freelancer comes with restrictions. You can only take on so many projects as just one person so if you want to be able to take on more, you will have to hire some extra help.

Now if you aren't going down the business route, but enjoy freelancing because of the flexibility, then you can easily set limits for your work. You can usually do this on freelancing sites, or if you work directly with clients, you can make sure that your agreements state how much work you can take on at once.

If you are a freelancer, please reach out and let me know any tips YOU might have! I'm here to learn even more so than I am to teach, so don't hesitate to reach out.

  • Pricing Strategy for Freelancers | JRP DAILY 164

This week seems to have a theme of freelancing so I figure I'll stick to it.

In the previous episode I talked about making sure to price your services as a freelancer so that you do not undersell yourself.

In this one, I talk about pricing your services strategically to make sure you funnel demand where you want it to go.

So after this episode I hope you can decide what your goals are, and the best path for you to take to get to where you want to be as a freelancer or an entrepreneur.

As always, be sure to reach out with any questions, comments, or concerns.

  • Get Paid What You're Worth | JRP DAILY 163

I am going to stick with the theme of freelancing today (to an extent) and give you some advice on how to make sure you are making as much money as you can be for what you're doing!

Business is a big game of trying to balance prices and customers, I know, so all of us could use some tips on how to price our products or services.

I am going to hit five big points in this episode:

    1. Make sure you don't undersell yourself

    2. Research your competitors and the market

    3. DO NOT get caught up in a race to the bottom with prices

    4. Understand WHEN to work for free

    5. Weigh the differences between working for yourself and for someone else

After getting a little bit of insight into those five things, you should be in a decent position to price your own work. This can definitely be one of the hardest aspects of freelancing or starting a new business, but it would be a terrible reason to stay out of business! Just take the time to learn from this content you are being provided and you will be where you want to be before you know it.

As always, reach out to me with any questions, requests, suggestions, etc.

  • Find the Skill That Could Change Your Life | JRP DAILY 162

Most of you have probably been around the internet studying business or how to make a side income. During this search, you have probably seen that good ol' start a business "blueprint" that says to teach yourself a skill and then provide it as a service.

While that method isn't necessarily bad... it doesn't help a whole lot. I've been there, asking myself "what in the world am I good enough at in order to make people pay me to do it?"

    It can be hard!!

So in this episode today I'm going to give you a much more elaborated answer as to how to find a skill that you can learn and then serve other people with. What you should look out for and how exactly I started making a side income using this method.

Let me know what you think.

  • The Death of a Podcast (Segment) | JRP DAILY 160

Hey guys! Read this description carefully.

We have come to the realization that we aren't really getting anywhere with "Sunday Funday" so it's time for us to switch it up again.

This time we are going to aim the Sunday segment of JRP DAILY towards students and try and help you learn how you can do better in school, or how you can learn faster in almost any environment.

We are both fast learners and have both been well above average as students for a number of years.

We want to use what we know and share it with you so that if you are serious about doing better in school or in your daily life... you can reach out to us and follow our methods to get where you want to be.

So that's it! That's the transition we are making and next week we will start giving out the tips.

Oh, and one more thing, we are still trying to come up with a catchy title for this new segment. If you have an idea then please don't hesitate to let us know!

  • Self-Efficacy | JRP DAILY 159

We are finally wrapping up the week with an episode on self-efficacy, and a recap of everything else that we covered this week.

Quick side note, it's been a really busy weekend so this episode may sound different because it's being posted a little later than usual from my makeshift studio at home so... yeah.

Anyway, very quickly in this episode I will go over self-efficacy and how it differs from self-esteem... and why you need both (along with the other three) to be solid in order to improve yourself.

My goal this week was not to give you some full blown course in self-development or anything like that. My goal was to expose you to different aspects of yourself so you can pay attention to whether or not these elements are actually improving when you DO go and listen to self-development podcasts or read self-help books.

So I really do hope I was able to bring you some type of good while doing this series and I want feedback about it! So be sure you get ahold of me, which you can do at pretty much any of the places below.

  • Self-Esteem | JRP DAILY 158

We are officially on the back half of this mini-series on self-help/self-development.

On Tuesday we went over the importance of self-swareness.

    On Wednesday we covered self-discipline/self-control.

Yesterday we went over self-sufficiency and what happens without it.

Now it is time for self-esteem.

The last two episodes of this little run (Self-Esteem and Self-Efficacy) are going to seem a little similar because they are both forms of self-confidence. The difference is that esteem deals with how you view your own worthiness and value while efficacy deals with your view of your ability to perform tasks.

Both of them are going to keep you going when you do not know why you are still going, and both of them are going to help you push through, be productive, and achieve things that you never thought possible.

  • Self-Sufficiency | JRP DAILY 157

Welcome to the third episode in this week's little series on self-development and self-help!

In the first episode of the week we covered self-awareness, and in the second we covered self-discipline. Now it is time to move on to self-sufficiency!

Now I have structured these episodes so that each will build off of the last, so make sure that you listen to the episodes on awareness and discipline if you haven't done so already. Self-sufficiency is all about being independent and having the ability to move forward on your own. So if you have zero self-awareness and zero self-discipline... what on earth makes you think you can be self-sufficient?

I hope you enjoy this one and share it with a friend as always. I do this in order to help and to get this podcast in front of the right people, I ask for your help.

I appreciate each and every one of you that listens and please never hesitate to reach out. I'm open to questions and requests from all of you.

  • Self-Discipline | JRP DAILY 156

Welcome to episode #2 in this little series I'm doing to help you understand self-development and self-help

I am a strong believer that absolutely EVERYTHING in this world starts with the individual and that if you cannot manage yourself, then there is no way for you to manage a business, a career, a family, or even a pet. It starts with you.

So I decided to do this series to help you understand what factors play into your ability to manage yourself and how you can improve in each and every one of these areas.

Today's episode is about self-discipline and I will explain to you exactly what I take self-discipline to mean, and how I have increased my discipline over time by doing simple tasks. I'll also talk a little bit about some of the results I've seen since doing so.

The painfully ironic part of this episode (and maybe even this series) is that the people that lack these skills or traits are the exact people that won't listen to the episodes and/or do anything about it.

So please, help me in convincing others to take steps toward improving and developing themselves and let's see where that takes us.
