This episode hits a very broad range of topics. We start off getting to know John a little better by diving into his childhood and formative years. He grew up in a strict, religious, and very conservative household. Due to this, he was able to offer some very interesting perspectives on all the topics discussed. We then moved into talking about Hoarders, a TV show that exposes the extremes of compulsive hoarding. As it turns out, this topic was a trigger for Travis, which made for some great entertainment. Next, we moved into an important topic around debating rather than conversing to find common ground. We see this all too much on social media when people like to argue and "win" a situation rather than learning from each other. Finally, we wrap up on a more somber topic when we talk about the grieving process. John wanted to provide some words of encouragement to people who may be suffering from loss. He had some great insight since his wife of 18 years passed away. We appreciate him being brave in talking about this difficult topic and hope our listeners may benefit. Thanks for listening and we hope you enjoy it! As always, check out our Instagram and Twitter for updates around the podcast. Also, check out Patreon for loads of bonus content.
