IN this episode, we talked about her past as a survivor of domestic abuse, not only how her ex-husband left her with nothing but also how the judge treated her unfairly. Domestic abuse is a pattern of behaviour used to gain power and control over another person. It can involve physical, emotional, verbal, sexual, financial, or psychological abuse. Common signs include fear of a partner, isolation, low self-esteem, and unexplained injuries.
If you’re experiencing abuse:
- Reach out to trusted people or organizations.
- Call a domestic violence hotline (e.g., in the U.S.: 1-800-799-SAFE).
- Create a safety plan to leave safely.
- Seek professional support.
Abuse is never your fault, and help is available. If in immediate danger, call emergency services. She also mentioned the people who helped her along the way and how that helped her to shape herself slowly but surely into the woman she is now.
