This will make your characters feel more believable. Nick also does a fantastic (not really) reading from the Brandon Sanderson novel “Skyward” as an example of code-switching. When you rewrite this dialogue, do with it without dialogue tags. Look to make your characters distinguished from one another but there mannerisms and unique traits.
