The guys decided to have a lighter, more fun episode so they looked at medical television shows and how accurate.... or grossly inaccurate they are. They reached out to our listeners who provided lots of feedback on things they have seen in shows as well. The basics are covered like shocking asystole in codes and intubating with yankauers. Then they go in-depth into several shows that have tons of errors in them. Let's just say, if providers practice like they do on television, licenses would be revoked quickly. Our stories you may have missed involves concerns from the WHO and another incident of a medical professional losing their life.

Ben & Tom bring healthcare information technology expert, Greg, on the show to discuss healthcare IT and the charting in EMRs. With his expertise, we look at where we came from in Healthcare 1.0 to development of EMRs and transition to Healthcare 2.0 to finally what the future might hold in Healthcare 3.0. A conversation with IT and EMRs wouldn't be complete without discussing the problems and concerns with the current charting system. We also ask Greg to gaze into his digital Magic 8 ball and look at the future of technology in healthcare and we even discuss some big tech companies and whether they are entering into the healthcare realm. Greg is also in the process of starting a technology podcast called "Tech Crossover" where he will talk with people in all facets of technology. You can find his site http://www.techcrossover.com and we will link to his podcast once it starts.
