The Supreme Court ordered the Trump administration to return Kilmar Abrego Garcia to the US after they unconstitutionally deported him to El Salvador in violation of a court order. Indeed, even the Trump administration's DOJ lawyers admitted that their deportation of Garcia was "illegal."

As Justice Sotomayor wrote: "The United States Government arrested Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia in Maryland and flew him to a "terrorism confinement center" in El Salvador, where he has been detained for 26 days and counting. To this day, the Government has cited no basis in law for Abrego Garcia's warrantless arrest, his removal to El Salvador, or his confinement in a Salvadoran prison. Nor could it."

In a rare display of unanimity, ALL 9 Supreme Court Justices told the Trump administration that it MUST provide due process - notice and opportunity to be heard - to every single person it seeks to deport.

As Justice Sotomayor said in her dissenting opinion: "To the extent, the Government (the Trump administration) removes (deports) even one individual without affording him notice and a meaningful opportunity to file and pursue habeas relief, it does so in direct contravention of an edict by the United States Supreme Court."

Trump-appointed Judge Trevor McFadden found the following: "The Court simply holds that under the First Amendment, if the Government (the Trump administration) opens its doors to some journalists . . . it cannot then shut those doors to other journalists because of (their) viewpoint . . . As CNN reported previously, "Trump calls for the termination of the Constitution in Truth Social post." Well, it looks like Trump is putting his money where his mouth is, as he seems to be trying to terminate the due process rights to which we are all entitled under the 5th Amendment. The Trump administration has deported a young man named Kilmer Arbrego Garcia, even though he's a legal US resident and was protected by a court order issued in 2019, in which a judge prohibited his deportation to El Salvador. Indeed, Garcia had fled the country because, according to court filings, "he left El Salvador to escape gang violence after gangsters threatened to kill him in an attempt to extort money from his parents." The Trump administration said his deportation was an "administrative error." But shockingly, they are now saying they have no way to get him back! The 5th Amendment to the Constitution provides, "No person shall . . . be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law". Kilmer Arbrego Garcia's rights have been blatantly violated by the Trump administration.

Donald Trump seems to spend his days golfing and signing unconstitutional executive orders. Two more federal court judges have halted executive orders Trump signed to punish law firms who displeased him for one reasons or another. And one of the Republican-appointed judges, Judge Richard Leon, had some choice words for the absurd arguments that were made in court by Trump's DOJ lawyers, saying: "Have you ever practiced law? And then there were three. Two more big law firms have sued the Trump administration for issuing executive orders punishing firms that Donald Trump doesn't like for one reasons or another. Paul Clement, former United States Solicitor General in the George W. Bush administration, is representing WilmerHale, one the the punished law firms. Attorney Clement wrote: " The President's sweeping attack on WilmerHale (and other firms) is unprecedented and unconstitutional." The DC Federal Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Judge James Boasberg's temporary restraining order would remain in place, rejecting arguments from Trump's DOJ lawyers to lift the ban so they could resume deporting Venezuelan immigrants without honoring their constitutional due process rights to notice and opportunity to be heard. In her written opinion, Judge Patricia Millett highlighted the human toll and tragedy that can result when human beings are deported without having their claims heard in court.
