Here’s an excerpt from my last YouTube concert livestream! Someone requested a little “Pride and Joy” by Stevie Ray Vaughan, so I whipped up a fingerstyle arrangement on the spot.
It turned into a mix between that classic SRV Texas shuffle and some Hill Country blues fingerstyle pickin’. 🎸

Once you experience what it feels like to play a complete song on your own—completely unaccompanied, with every part happening at once—it’s one of the most rewarding feelings you can have as a guitar player. Being able to convey an entire musical piece instrumentally on a single guitar is incredibly satisfying.

Here’s another excerpt from one of my YouTube livestream concerts!
I’m playing an original called “Romp in the Swamp” on this National Reso-Phonic baritone tricone resonator. The low baritone strings let me get funky and incorporate some slap bass techniques in between the Delta blues slide riffs. It’s a really fun instrument to play, and I love the unique groove it creates.

Here’s another excerpt from last weekend’s YouTube concert livestream! This time I’m playing my Delta blues slide guitar arrangement of “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes. 🎸
This is one of the most complex slide guitar arrangements I’ve ever written. The way the bass line and the melody twist together is so hypnotic. I’ve always loved this song, and it was a blast turning it into a solo slide guitar arrangement.

If you missed my YouTube live stream concert last week, here’s another excerpt. This time I’m playing my solo acoustic arrangement of Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey.”
I love mixing this tune with one of my other favorite soul ballads, Etta James’ “I’d Rather Go Blind.” They share a similar rhythm and chord progression, and in my opinion they’re two of the greatest soul ballads ever written—definitely two of my all-time favorites.
I’ll be doing another live stream concert this upcoming weekend, and I hope to see you there.
