February 18, 2020399: Departure Lounge with Adam LambertMusician, actor and activist Adam Lambert has launched the Feel Something Foundation (FSF), with the mission to support LGBTQ+ organisations that are moving the needle for communities of all ages and backgrounds.Founded by Adam in 2019, the Feel Something Foundation is the result of a career travelling the world, meeting global members of the community, hearing their stories and witnessing first-hand the difficulties LGBTQ+ people continue to face in all areas of life. Having spent time throughout his career engaging in LGBTQ+ activism and as a member of the community himself, the foundation sees Adam’s philanthropy institutionalised into an organisation with the aim to truly make a difference. With the vision to see LGBTQ+ communities of all ages and backgrounds enjoy full human rights within a fully-inclusive society, FSF first aims to ensure support is given to the myriad of issues that continue to disproportionately affect them. This will be achieved through working with charities that have a mission or project directly focussed on impacting the LGBTQ+ community in areas of Education & the Arts; Homelessness; Suicide Prevention & Mental Health. The Feel Something Foundation wants to abolish “coming out” as a term used to define someone simply being themselves.Adam Lambert is best known as an international superstar singer, who blew the world away on the eighth season of American Idol. Since then he’s gone on to have a fully-fledged solo career, and tour the world with Queen (Queen + Adam Lambert). His earlier career saw him earn a Grammy Award nomination for international hit ‘Whatya Want From Me’ (from debut album For Your Entertainment), while second album ‘Trespassing’ became the first to reach the number one spot in the US and Canada by an openly gay artist. Later, Adam’s highly anticipated third album ‘The Original High’ was his first for Warner Bros Records which was executive produced by Max Martin and Shellback and included the smash hit ‘Ghost Town’. Delving into the world of film and TV, Adam joined the cast of Glee for six-episode story in 2013, and in 2018 had a cameo in Oscar winning film ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, in 2019 voicing character ‘Emperor Maximus’ in animated-live action hybrid movie ‘Playmobil: The Movie’. Adam Lambert released single ‘Superpower’ on Sep 4th 2019 ahead of his highly anticipated EP ‘Velvet: Side A’ which went into the top 10 download chart in the UK and US on release. In September, Queen + Adam Lambert headlined Global Citizen Festival following a huge North American tour. 2020 will see them take ‘The Rhapsody Tour’ across Australia and Asia before hitting the UK and Europe in their Spring. ...more7minPlay
