  • Right or Left?
    Romans 10:5-21
Dad’s words are/were Pointed, Preventative, thought Provoking
God’s message to his creation is about righteousness.
Righteousness is closer than we think. (5-8)Through Moses in Deuteronomy 30:12-14We don’t have to physically search any farther than where we areRighteousness is a calling. (9-13)Let the overflowing of our mouth be that Jesus is Lord (Luke 6:45)How do we “call” on the Lord?It is a calling for everyoneRighteousness is in the message we carry. (14-15;17)We are sent with a message to speak (Matthew 28:18-20)If the message we speak is Christ, it cultivates lifeThe Gospel written by Isaiah is that “God reigns.” (Isaiah 52:7)Righteousness is considered by all but rejected by many. (16-21)Many are called. (Matthew 22:14)Narrow is the road. (Matthew 7:13)God didn’t keep it a secret. (Isaiah 65:1-2)
God has provoked the thoughts of man by giving a pointed message that will help prevent death.  Believe and be made right with Him.  The same message He has been declaring from the beginning.

Sermon Scripture:  Romans 8:12-39; Matthew 25:14-30
A new beginning comes with new decisions. (v. 12-14)To listen to sinful nature or to notWho you follow is as important as who you leadA new beginning comes with new fears. (v. 15-17)No need to fearWe are God’s childrenA new beginning comes with new dreams. (v. 18-25)Wait and work eagerlyAdopted into God’s familyA new beginning comes with the same promises. (v. 26-39)God is for usWho can be against usNothing can separate you from God’s loveTo live is Christ, to die is gain
As we accept our talents and live, may we be bold in our decisions, willing to suffer for Christ, and dream big, all for God’s glory, until Jesus comes again.

  • Driven
    Sermon Scripture:  Romans 7:1-8:11
When we died to Christ, we died to the law. (v. 7:1-6)Like marriage (Mark 10:1-12)Re-marry (1 Timothy 5:14)Surrendering to Jesus is putting the old self to death and uniting with Him.Until we died to the law, sin used the law. (v. 7:7-13)You can’t keep them so just live lifeYou can keep them so work, work, work until judgmentThe law isn’t to blame, I am. (v. 7:14-25)We want to be God. (Genesis 3)Why those 10 commandments? (Exodus 20)God did what the law couldn’t do. (v. 8:1-11)The gift from God is God Himself. (John 16:13-14)Who will we listen to?
Thanks be to God that the Holy Spirit is living inside of us and we can rely on Him for direction and not our own understanding.
