Karate in the Garage

We've got the fourth and final movie of Badass Females with Swords Month!

From IMDB: In a post-apocalyptic world, She aids two brothers' quest to rescue their kidnapped sister. Along the way, they battle weird creatures before standing against the odds to defeat the evil Norks.

ENJOY!

WHILE IT'S TRUE THE WGA STRIKE IS OVER, AND EVEN IF SAG GETS THEIR'S TOGETHER, WORKERS AND THEIR FAMILIES ARE GOING TO BE STRUGGLING FOR A WHILE. THE OVERWHELMING BURDEN OF PUTTING FOOD ON THE TABLE AND A ROOF OVER ONE'S HEAD DOESN'T END THE INSTANT THE DEALS ARE RATIFIED.

IT COULD BE MONTHS BEFORE PRODUCTIONS GET UP TO SPEED AGAIN. THAT LEADS RIGHT INTO THE INDUSTRY'S USUAL WINTER/HOLIDAY HIATUS. WILL THAT BE DIFFERENT THIS YEAR? WHO KNOWS. BUT EVEN IF THEY WORK THROUGH THAT USUAL BREAK, MANY FAMILIES ARE GOING TO NEED ASSISTANCE. THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN HELP.

IF YOU HAVE A FEW DOLLARS TO SPARE, PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING TO THE ENTERTAINMENT COMMUNITY FUND. THE FUND HELPS ALL WORKERS AFFECTED BY THE STRIKE, NOT JUST ACTORS AND WRITERS.

We've got Movie #3 of Badass Females with Swords Month.

The Lost Empire may be one of the oddest movies we've covered on this show, but it's also weirdly entertaining.

These movies were so common back in the day, and this month has been the soul jarring reminder of that truth.

We've got Movie #2 of Badass Females with Swords Month. If Barbarian Queen was the Snake Eater III for the month, then 1982's Sorceress is the Snake Eater IV for the month. (If there was an actual SE IV.) From IMDB: Sword and sorcery story of the cosmic struggle between white magic and black magic. (A 14-word description for an 83-minute that yearns every one of those 14 words and then some ) Oh, yeah. We know. Ohhhhh, do WE know! This month just seems to get better with each movie, and we're hoping that trend continues.

It's a new month and a new theme! We're not sure what the final theme name will be at the end of the run, but for now it's Badass Females with Swords. First up, is Roger Corman's Barbarian Queen! From IMDB: A sword-wielding warrior, Amethea, and a few companions embark on a life-or-death mission to liberate her people from the clutches of a brutal monarch who destroyed her village and enslaved her people. (And it's even better than that summarization lets on.) This is gonna' be a wacky month. We couldn't think of a better way to kick off the summer movie season!

After some major technical difficulties (thanks for sucking, Adobe), we have the last of our April Fooled movies!

It's 2000's Memento from writer-director Christopher Nolan starring Guy Pearce, Joe Pantoliano, and Carrie-Anne Moss.

From IMDB: A man with short-term memory loss attempts to track down his wife's murderer.

Here is the Collider article Freddy mentions!
