  • New Identity in Christ

Today, on Karl and Crew, we finished the week discussing identity in Christ. As followers of Christ, we cannot conform to the expectations and culture of the world; our identities are found in Him. We turned to John 14:6, which affirms that, as it says, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no one can come to the Father without going through Him. We also turned to 2 Corinthians 5:17, where Paul tells us that we are new creations in Christ. Therefore, our identities should align with Him. Jon Kelly also shared his testimony on finding his new identity in Christ. Pastor Kelly is a husband, father, and Lead Pastor of Chicago West Bible Church. He is also an alumnus of Moody Bible Institute. We also had Heather Rice Minus join us to discuss prison ministry. We then had Dr. Ronnie Floyd join us to discuss the purpose of the National Day of Prayer. • Play the Long Game

Today, on Karl and Crew, we discussed how difficult it can be to continue doing good when others are rewarded for doing bad. As followers of Christ, we are called to trust, commit, and abide in the Lord despite what others do, which means doing the right thing. We must cling to Him and play the long game, knowing that He will handle it all in the end. Psalm 37 affirms this because it tells us not to fret over evildoers but to trust in Him patiently. Have you been playing the long game with the Lord? We also had Laine Lawson Craft join us to talk about how to fight for your children with prayer. Laine is a dynamic speaker and host of the top-ranked podcast, Warfare Parenting. She is also a best-selling author of several books, including Warfare Parenting: A Daily Battle Plan to Fight for Your Child. • God Can Take the Bad and Turn it for Good

Today, on Karl and Crew, we discussed the goodness of God and how, when we submit to Him, all things happen for good. There is nothing we can do that can keep us from God when we truly lay before His throne, because He can take the bad and turn it for good. Romans 8:28 affirms this as Paul tells us that if we love God and are called according to His purpose, all things will work for good. We also had Mark Jobe join us to talk about Giving Day. Mark is the current President of the Moody Bible Institute and the Senior Pastor at New Life Community Church. We also had Phillip VanLear join us to share his testimony. Phillip is a 2021 graduate of Moody Theological Seminary and a well-known actor. He spent 40 years acting and played in well-known movies such as Prison Break, Chicago Code, Meet the Browns, Holiday Heist, and many others. • The Simplicity of the Gospel

Today, on Karl and Crew, we kicked off the week with a LIVE in-studio audience as we discussed the importance of sharing the Gospel in a sincere and simple way. The Gospel is to be accessible by all, therefore we need to be intentional about the way we share it with others. We should share it in a way that all can understand. We turned to 2 Corinthians 11:3 where Paul expresses concern about believers being misled by false teachers simply because they don’t understand the simple and truthful gospel. How can you share the gospel in a way where it makes sense to everyone? We also had Pastor Jon Kelly share his testimony of how Jesus met him in solitary confinement. Pastor Kelly is a husband, father and Lead Pastor of Chicago West Bible Church. He also is an alum of Moody Bible Institute. We also had Dr. Joseph Stowell join us. • Shedding the Old for the New with Jesus

Today, on Karl and Crew, we wrapped up our Resurrection week by discussing the renewal we receive through Christ. When Christ died on the cross, He took our sins with Him, and now we have salvation through Him. We turned to Romans 6:6-7, which says that our old selves were crucified with Jesus on the cross, making us no longer slaves to sin. What have you left at the cross? We also had Rachel Faulkner Brown join us today. Rachel founded Never Alone Widows, the largest Christian widows' ministry, after tragically losing two husbands before she was 31 years old. She also hosts the “There is More Podcast” and co-wrote an eight-week Bible study, Father’s House. • Walk in Truth With the Lord

Today, on Karl and Crew, we discussed the importance of walking in truth with the Lord. The enemy will try to plant lies in our heads to discourage and keep us from knowing the truth that God has given us. One of those truths is that we are dead to sin and alive in Christ Jesus our Lord, which is spoken about in Romans 6:11. When we know the truth, we won’t believe the lies that the enemy and the world throw at us. What lies have you believed? We also had Ginna Cross as a special guest today. Ginna is the Co-Executive Director of Alliance Family Services, a Christian organization committed to serving women and families in the Kenosha and Racine area. The organization champions the sanctity of human life, sharing the Gospel, and trusting God to transform lives. Ginna and her husband, Steve, are passionate about rescuing the preborn and proclaiming the gospel. You can hear the highlights of today’s program on Karl and Crew Showcast.

As followers of Christ, we need to have our identity in Him, or else we’ll try to find our identity in other things. We turned to Romans 6:8-10, where the apostle Paul tells us that when Christ died, we died with Him so that we can live with Him now. We have been given new life because of His sacrifice. Therefore, we should live for Him. We also had J. Warner Wallace talk about how he went from an atheist to a believer after investigating the supernatural existence of Jesus. J. is a Dateline featured cold-case homicide detective, a national speaker, podcast host, and a best-selling author.
