Family members of the 44 Ghanaians who were killed in Gambia in 2015 have called on the government to make strenuous efforts to get them compensation and ensure justice prevails in the case. According to the family members, during the incident, the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was then the foreign minister, “but now that you are the president, and a visionary leader with full knowledge of the case, we have full hope that you will do all you can to get us compensation and bring the perpetrators to book”.

The Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON), the student wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has suspended all its campus activities following the disenfranchisement of its members during the recently held national delegates conference of the party.

SOME PARENTS in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis have appealed to members of the four teacher unions to call off their strike action. They said much as they appreciate their concerns, the teachers should rescind their decision in the interest of the school children who are enduring the repercussions of the tussle between them and the government.

President of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), Angel Carbornu says teacher unions will not call off their strike over the Cost of Living Allowances until their demands are met. Mr. Carbornu indicated that a strike was the last option for teacher unions after several negotiations with the government yielded no positive results.
