Scores of residents within Obuasi in the Ashanti Region have embarked on a demonstration over what they described as worsening unemployment among the youth in the mining community. The protestors want the management of Anglogold Ashanti to absorb them into the mining company.

A former Minister of Energy, Mr Boakye Agyarko, has said he currently don't have a relationship with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo following the circumstances under which he was relieved of his position in August 2018 in relation to the Ameri power deal.

Mr. Robert Ayambile, a 60-year-old groundnut farmer, is in the grips of the Bono East Regional Police Command for allegedly murdering his 55-year-old wife, Madam Yaa kaya. Mr. Ayambile allegedly butchered his wife with a cutlass in their groundnut farm at Nkwabeng-Nanakumaa, a suburb of the Nkoranza South Municipality.

The Privileges Committee has summoned Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament (MP), Sarah Adwoa Safo, to appear before it on July 6, 2022, over her absenteeism. This comes on the back of Miss Safo’s failure to appear before the committee on June 14, 2022, despite several attempts to reach her.

A contingent of 50 military personnel has been deployed to the Krobo area to provide security to the staff of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) as it replaces all postpaid meters with prepaid meters beginning today June 14, 2022. The military will be assisted by National Security and the Police.

Two military officers from the 155 Armoured Regiment based at Damongo are currently in police custody for allegedly raping a past student of the Damongo Nursing and Midwifery College. The student is said to have come to the school for some documents.

The Police Administration has interdicted Sergeant Isaac Nii Sowah, No. 42681 G/ stationed at the Accra Regional Police Command who was captured in uniform, smoking. The Sergeant was seen in a video footage that has gone viral, smoking a substance suspected to be narcotic drug.

Military personnel have reportedly shot one person dead at Bawku in the Upper East Region. Adom News’ Halidu Dasmani reports the incident is said to have occurred on Tuesday.
