With growing concerns about the activities of Aisha Huang, a notorious Chinese lady aka the ‘galamsey queen’ in Ghana, President Nana Akufo-Addo says he is unsure she was initially deported from the country. According to him, her re-emergence raises concerns about whether she left Ghana in the first place.

The British High Commission in Accra has opened the official book of condolence in honour of Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen died on Thursday, September 8 at the age of 96. A statement issued by the British High Commission and copied to the Ghana News Agency said the death of The Queen was a moment of great sadness for the United Kingdom and so many around the world.

The Minority in Parliament has described the blocking of SIM cards by the National Communications Authority (NCA) as unjust and unfair. Speaking at a press conference in Parliament on Friday, Ranking Member on the Communications Committee of Parliament, A.B.A Fuseini noted that the act by the NCA is a breach of the fundamental human rights of subscribers whose SIM cards have been blocked.

Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, has died at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years. She died peacefully on Thursday afternoon at her Scottish estate, where she had spent much of the summer.

A 25-year-old woman, Evelyn Detordzi, nearly lost her finger after wearing a ‘promise ring’ her fiancé gave her. According to Miss Detordzi, who resides at Sehwi Benumsuo in the Bodi District of the Western North Region, the man put the ring on the wedding finger.

A former Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Inusah Fuseini, has said galamsey suspect, Aisha Huang, was bold to return to Ghana because she sees the country to be a joke. According to to the former Tamale Central Member of Parliament, there is no way the Chinese national would have found her way back to Ghana if “our laws were punitive enough.”

The leader and founder of the Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams, has asserted that if Ghana’s economic situation does not improve, the country may experience a civil disobedience in a few years. According to him, this will take place depending on the outcome of the 2024 elections.

There is serious confusion at the Benkum Senior High School (SHS) in the Eastern Region where a final year student, Adwoa (not real name), and some teachers are alleged to be involved in bouts of sex. A sex video of the sexual escapade between the student and one of the teachers has already leaked and is causing tension in the otherwise calm environment of the school.

President Akufo-Addo during a meeting with the leadership of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) at the Jubilee House, admitted that there is a need for the policy to be discussed.

The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) for Sekondi-Takoradi, Abdul-Mumin Issah has been reinstated. A letter dated August 30, 2022, signed by the Minister of local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Mr Daniel Botwe stated that the President has accepted the recommendations made by the Western Regional Coordinating Council after an inquiry into the conduct of the MCE.
