This semester marks a shift in focus from common misconceptions about Anorexia Nervosa to increasingly more personal insight.

This week I explore something topical, something I believe to be pertinent at this particular time of year. Following the winter break, I will discuss implications for eating-disorder-sufferers over the Christmas/New Year period. 

'Life as We Know It' is inspired by real-life stories from interviews of our very own King's students! Your host, Jasmine Ho, a mature student herself, will be interviewing other students of all backgrounds and ages, giving voice to their life's journey and how they got to where they are now. Aimed to be interactive and positivity-infused, every interview hopes to empower and encourage you on your own journey, basically proving that NO ONE is too old to learn!

In this show, we get a chance to speak to Petra Kis-Herczegh, an inspiring and driven female tech entrepreneur who shares her career journey which was very much intertwined with her academic curiosity and endeavours and tells how that has helped shaped her life's journey. Find out how her story of succeeding in the Digital Marketing field has led to her Neuroscientist MSc degree at King's and how she found time to be a Yoga teacher on the side. Her tenacity and dedicated nature have certainly been the powerhouse behind her success. I hope you enjoy hearing her story!

We are Aitor and Cara, and we are back together to bring you the latest updates on the Eurovision world in this final episode of 2023!

Today we talked about the second song for Eurovision Song Contest 2024, the Czech entry! We also review the songs of Eesti Laul 2024, the Estonian national final, and the line-up for San Remo 2024, the Italian music contest form where the Italian entry for Malmo will be selected. Very familiar and big names in these two national finals!

But today's episode is especially focused on Benidorm Fest 2024, the Spanish selection for Malmo. We finally have the 16 songs that will be competing in a month's time for the ticket to Sweden and fly the Spanish flag. There are song of all kinds, so get ready to find out our thougths and favourites of the competition.

After moving away from home to uni allowed her OCD to run wild, in second year Isabella began exposure therapy which helped her manage the disorder. Isabella also talks about her experience with different antidepressants and the effects they had on her cognitive functioning.

This week, I look at the impact of eating-disorders on the family - whilst touching on the role of friends and romantic partners. Perhaps it goes without saying that eating-disorders impact one's close family. However, I will seek to explore this idea in more depth – because I don’t believe that the average person has the first idea about the impact that an eating-disorder has on the entire household. The sheer magnitude of the impact that the mental illness of just one family member has on the entire family. Indeed, there are a vast number of ways in which the eating-disorder impacts the family. I imagine a majority of you fail to imagine its impact beyond the dinner table. And naturally, meal times are difficult for the family. But its impact is far more extensive and wide-reaching.
