As part of our Between Towns And Villages series, KCLR's Dermot Keyes travelled to the beautiful village of Tullahought in the Lingaun Valley, which boasts stunning views of Slievenamon and its neighbouring hillsides.
There, he met with Breda Horgan, Richie Walsh and Jimmy Walsh, all stalwarts of the village's superb Tidy Towns group, which has made remarkable strides since first entering the competition in 1991.
Last year, Tullahought earned its first Tidy Towns Gold Medal, and was one of only three Kilkenny winners to receive such an accolade, alongside Kilkenny City and Inistioge.
Dermot's chat with Breda, Richie and Jimmy underlined that 35 years of dedicated, community-led initiative firmly remains a work in progress.
