Representatives of Net Zero Energy, the company seeking to develop a 2 billion Euro long duration energy storage facility near Rathoe, held a seven-hour community information session in the Carlow village yesterday (Wednesday, 12th August)

Gillian Dee, who is a member of the Rathoe Community Group, said the community was not opposed to renewable energy but was fearful of the unproven technology they claim is at the heart of the plan.

Meanwhile, Net Zero Energy Chief Executive Peter Harte said the company was pleased with yesterday's session and was committed to providing further, detailed information to the local community in the coming weeks and months.
