-The Big XII have officially accepted 4 new schools to the conference: BYU, Houston, Cincinnati and UCF.  What does this mean for the Kansas schools in the conference, the Big XII as a whole moving forward and the American Conference as it relates to the the Wichita State Shockers?

-The Kansas City Chiefs are 1-0 on the season after a comeback victory against the Cleveland Browns 33-29.  Blake and Tommy discuss the Chiefs effort in this game, plus the defensive woes that seem to have plagued KC in this battle.

-The Kansas State Wildcats won against SIU at home over the weekend 31-23, but lost Skylar Thompson to another injury.  Blake and Tommy talk about Will Howard stepping in again at QB this season and what that means for the Wildcats fortunes.

-The Kansas Jayhawks fell to Coastal Carolina last Friday night, but it wasn't all bad for the Jayhawks as Jason Bean continues to solidify himself as the starter in Lawrence.  Blake and Tommy discuss how things could have been much, much worse for KU in that game.

.-Our Wichita Whiparound gives an update on the playoff push for the Wichita Wind Surge and Blake gives a recap of City League high school football!

Football is back, y'all!  And it's time for a new edition of Keeper of the Games with Blake Cripps and Tommy Castor!

On this episode:

-The Kansas Jayhawks get their first (and potentially only) win of the season against FCS opponent South Dakota.  It wasn't pretty though.  The Jayhawks won 17-14.  The guys discuss the holes and issues with Kansas football and if there are any bright spots to mention.

-The Kansas State Wildcats had a dominant defensive outing over the weekend taking down Stanford 24-7.  It was a great start for year 3 for Chris Klieman, but what will it take for KSU to continue their good fortunes?

-The Kansas City Chiefs start their season this weekend against the Cleveland Browns and Blake and Tommy give their KC Chiefs preview!  What will things look like for the offensive line for KC?  How about the secondary? What does the running back room look like?  Any glaring concerns?  The guys discuss.

-Our Wichta Whiparound has a quick Shocker basketball update and Blake gives a recap of City League high school football!

-The guys also give a quick shoutout the end the show to the best player currently in Major League Baseball, Salvador Perez.

-Blake and Tommy give their belated thoughts on college football conference realignment.  With Texas and Oklahoma heading to the SEC, where does that leave the Big 12, and more specifically, Kansas State and Kansas?  Are there far reaching ramifications for Wichita State?  Is this the end of the NCAA as we know it?

-It's the official 2021 College Football Preview as Blake and Tommy discuss their predictions in Year 3 for Chris Klieman and the Kansas State Wildcats.  Can KSU finish in the Top 3 of the Big 12?  It's also the inaugural season for new Kansas head coach Lance Leipold.  Leipold is known as a program builder, but what happens to the Jayhawks in 2021?  Can the new era of Kansas football start sooner rather than later?  Also, who wins the Big 12? Is it too early to crown Oklahoma or will the Cyclones at Iowa State have something to say about that?

-Our Wichta Whiparound focuses on Eric Wedge with Wichita State Baseball, plus Wichita State Volleyball is now underway!

Blake Cripps hosts, Tommy Castor returns after 6 weeks off for the birth of his new baby and more big news: this is the last show for original host Weston Mills, who is stepping away from the podcast.  So, with all of that news, let's get right into a new episode!

(04:03) Weston Mills kicks off the show discussing his plans to leave Keeper of the Games after 73 episodes.

(06:30) To put it nicely, the Kansas City Royals have limped into the All Star Break and there really is very little to be excited or hopeful about for KC.  They enter the break with a record of 36-53, 17 games under .500.  Since this season is a bust, what does the future look like for the Royals? Is there any hope?

(35:05) Time for a Wichita Wind Surge update. The Surge are in 1st place by the skin of their teeth in the Double A Central Division.  They play an exciting (and at times nervewracking) brand of baseball, but how sustainable is it long term?

(49:22) Final topic of the day is the wild story about Kansas football and the allegations by a former player and his family that they were silenced about their harrassment from teammates and that Les Miles enabled the situation.  But how legitimate is the story and what purpose does it serve? The guys discuss.

(02:40) Things have actually gone from bad to worse for the Kansas City Royals, losers of 6 straight games and so now it's not really funny anymore to talk about if the Royals actually suck.  The answer is a resounding yes as KC sits at 33-44, 11 games under .500.  Weston and Blake discuss where Kansas City can look for answers.

(25:55) Time for another summertime college hoops update.  Last week the guys checked in on prospects with the Wichita State Shockers, this week it's an update on Kansas hoops.  Both Jalen Wilson and Ochai Agbaji are waiting to make their decision on whether to return to KU.  What will the lineup look like this year for the Jayhawks? 

(42:06) Kansas State football is just around the corner, so the guys give an update on Chris Klieman's crew in Manhattan and what fans can expect from the Wildcats in 2021.

Here's we go!! Let's do a new episode of Keeper of the Games right now with Blake Cripps and the guy that just celebrated his first Father's Day...Weston Mills! Tommy Castor is still out taking care of his newborn.

(03:15) Time to play the game again of Do The Royals Suck? The game keeps getting less and less fun as we go. The Royals had another rough week, made worse by Adalberto Mondesi going back on the Injured List. Mondi is having a tough time staying healthy, but who's to blame? And where do the Royals go from here?

(23:43) It's an interesting conversation about high school sports in the state of Kansas and the debate between private schools and public schools and if the playing field should be leveled with multipliers in Kansas. Blake and Weston discuss the proposal that the KSHSAA should have a multiplier and would move private schools up one classification in the state due to the idea that private schools are winning more state championships than public.

(47:03) Summer workouts are underway for Wichita State Shocker basketball and the guys check in on the new faces for the Shockers and what should fans expect from Coach Isaac Brown's crew this winter....

(1:00:07) Time for our Wichita Whiparound talking about the bracket for The Basketball Tournament, including the draw for the AfterShocks who get the overall #2 seed, and a congratulations goes out to Englishman Harry Hall who won the Wichita Open over the weekend who finished -20 at Crestview Country Club. The guys also wrap up the show with a note on Chiefs DE Frank Clark who was arrested in LA on Monday on an illegal firearm charge.

And they have won with a flair with multiple walk off victories, including in back to back games last week. What makes this team so good and what does the next 25% of the season look like for the Surge?

(42:02) Congrats to Hutchinson CC football who won the NJCAA football championship over the weekend against Snow College by a score of 29-27! Drew Dallas led his Blue Dragons squad to and undefeated season and the 'ship and Weston and Blake break down the win!

The school year is coming to a close, summer is nearly here and so it's now time for a new KOGpod with Blake Cripps and Tommy Castor?? And here...we...go....

(04:07) The dream season has come to a close for Wichita State Shocker softball, falling in the Norman regional over the weekend. WSU swept Texas A&M and gave the Sooners all they wanted in the first matchup, but the elimination game was too much for the Shockers. Still, an incredible year for the Shockers and one they should be proud of. Also, Shocker baseball ended the regular season taking 3 of 4 from Memphis and get a #3 seed in the AAC tournament, kicking off on Tuesday.

(52:36) All may not be lost for the Kansas City Royals. After dropping 2 of 3 against the White Sox, the Royals have won 5 of 6, including sweeping Milwaukee and taking 3 of 4 from Detroit. What is to make of the Royals ballclub?

(1:05:30) Our #WichitaWhiparound focuses on the Wichita Thunder who clinch a postseason berth, and the NBC World Series returning to downtown Wichita in 2021. Also a late show addition as Sunrise Christian Academy is joining an elite high school basketball league next season.
