“One year after quitting smoking the chance of having a heart attack is reduced by half.”
“About 7 million people around the world have a heart attack each year and heart diseases are the most common cause of death in Europe. A serious heart attack leaves behind damage that the body can never fully repair. Why can’t the human heart heal itself, whilst some other parts of the body like the skin or blood are constantly renewed and repaired?”
In this episode we talk about....
Cardiovascular Disease and Cardiovascular optimisation
What can we do to look after our hearts better?
Today we have the pleasure of having Dr Ricky Gondhia on the show.
BIO
Dr Ricky Gondhia is a private GP in the heart of the city and co
founded The Montague Clinic with Dr Om Banerjee - who, incidentally,
has a particular interest in sexual health, more on that later.
Dr Ricky graduated from UCL, been a doctor for 15 years,
and has served as a Clinical Director for an
NHS Trust. He has appeared on the BBC News, Radio 5 Live and City
Hospital. He also hosted ‘One Click Clinic’, the online health
channel featured on YouTube. https://bit.ly/2kj93jM
He is known for his sensible advice, discretion and for being SO easy
to talk to - you forget you’re “at the doctors”.
He is loved and trusted by countless patients in the city, a recent review read,
“This is without doubt the best service I have ever had from any
doctor private or NHS. Put simply: they care. I had blood tests done
at 4pm and got the results the same evening and the follow ups from
the doctor over the next 2 weeks were above and beyond. If only all
doctors were like this…”
I invited him on the show because I am on a mission to put the “care”
back in health care and Dr Ricky is an example of that.
