The warm sun beating down and the rhythm of the tireless waves only added to his despair of loneliness. His call & faith demanded action, but he was isolated to an island in hopes his message would be lost to the rocks and hills. He missed the ministry, preaching, teaching and telling others, as he has done for the last 50 years. He longed to lay hands on someone and pray for their healing or redemption. His desire was collective worship, oh, to hear the songs of the community of faith as they blend their voices in sounds of victory to their conquering king. As Jeremiah of old, the word burned like fire in his heart.
One day he finds himself in the spirit on the Lords day, the loneliness for ministry and the fear of uncertainty are broken by the Presence of the Alpha and the Omega. John says "I turned to see the voice that spoke with me." At that moment John is rewarded for his courage and stubborn faithfulness and the book of Revelation is born.
