WHAT IS LIMERENCE ? Limerence is an intense emotional state often characterized by obsessive thoughts and feelings of infatuation towards someone, typically a romantic interest. It's different from genuine love because it's often based on idealized perceptions and can be fleeting. TE dives into the how to’s in spotting limerence… 1. Constant Thinking: You can't stop thinking about the person, and they occupy your thoughts most of the time.

2. Idealization: You tend to idealize the person, seeing only their positive qualities and ignoring their flaws.

3. Emotional Rollercoaster: Your mood is heavily influenced by their actions and responses to you.

4. Intrusive Thoughts: You may have intrusive or obsessive thoughts about the person, imagining scenarios with them.

5. Fear of Rejection: There's a strong fear of rejection or not being reciprocated, which can lead to anxiety.

6. Physical Symptoms: Limerence can sometimes manifest physically with symptoms like butterflies in the stomach or heart palpitations.

7. Fantasy Projection: You create elaborate fantasies about a future with this person.

8. Overanalyzing: You scrutinize their every action and word, trying to decipher hidden meanings.

Here are some ways to help you work through limerence:

1. Self-Awareness: Recognize that you're experiencing limerence. Understand that it's a temporary and intense emotional state, different from genuine love.

2. Limit Contact: If possible, reduce or limit contact with the person you're infatuated with. This can help you gain some emotional distance.
