Welcome to Season Two: Episode 29. In this episode, Scott and Luis have a conversation with our friend, Ralph Moore. Ralph was previously on an APEST series episode: the apostle. But in this episode Ralph shares the incredible story of multiplication from Hope Chapel, which has planted more than 2,600 churches globally. Hope Chapel is one of the few level 5 churches in North America. This story is incredible, and towards the end, Ralph gives some thoughts about the microchurch movement in the present. This episode is a testament to church multiplication! 

Ralph Moore is the Founding Pastor of three churches, which grew into the Hope Chapel 'movement' now numbering more than 2,600 churches worldwide. These are the offspring of the 70+ congregations launched from Ralph's hands-on disciplemaking efforts.

He pastored the longest in Hawaii, where he was 29 years at Hope Chapel Kaneohe Bay (now Anchor Church) and 6 years at Hope Chapel Honolulu. Of the 2,600 churches, 63 are in Hawaii.

He currently serves as "Church Multiplication Catalyzer" for Exponential.org. In addition to this, he travels the globe, teaching church multiplication to pastors in startup movements. He's authored several books, including Let Go of the Ring: The Hope Chapel Story, Making Disciples, How to Multiply Your Church, Starting a New Church, and Defeating Anxiety. Welcome to Season Two: Episode 27. In this episode, our great friend, Brian Johnson, area director of the Kansas City (KC) Underground rejoins to help close the apest series. The apest series is based on Ephesians 4:11-12, "11 And he [Jesus] gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ" (ESV). Apest is an acronym for apostle, prophet, evangelist, shepherd, and teacher. In this episode, Brian introduces the idea of voice order, an idea from the book "5 Voices" by Jeremie Kubicek and Steve Cockram. Voice order is an extra-biblical idea that might help shape leadership structures and organizations to work together for the highest fullness of each person. 

5 voices to apest: nurturer to shepherd, guardian to teacher, connector to evangelist, creative to prophet, and pioneer to apostle.

Scott and Luis brought back a guest from earlier in season two, Carlos Piñero of Citizen House! Carlos is a fellow mircochurch practitioner in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area. 

Carlos & Lydia Piñero have spent their 12 years of marriage pouring their lives into making disciples at churches in Denver, Phoenix, and Dallas. They're passionate about raising their five kids in an authentic community and helping others discern where God is calling them to plant the Gospel. In January 2021, they were sent from a multi-site church in Dallas/Fort Worth that Carlos was on staff at to plant Citizen House - a family of microchurches reaching those who may never step foot in an established church.

Scott and Luis had the joy of interviewing Bre Wiebe of the Kansas City Underground! 

Breanna Wiebe serves as one of the founders and directors of the Kansas City Underground, a mission agency and decentralized network of missionaries and microchurches in Kansas City. KCU’s forty-year vision is to have a missionary on every street and a microchurch in every network of relationships, connecting with training Hubs throughout the city, saturating Kansas City with the beauty, justice, and Good News of Jesus. Breanna's primary role is to multiply and equip coaches for missionaries and microchurches within the KC Underground network. Her other passion is supporting adults with special needs in their community-based employment in her co-vocation with WillowTree Supports in Shawnee, Kansas. Breanna and Ryan live as missionaries with their two kids in their neighborhood, seeking to build an extended spiritual family there.

Welcome to Season Two: Episode 21! We are beginning a new series on the apest. Apest stands for apostle, prophet, evangelist, shepherd, and teacher. The concept of the apest is based on Ephesians 4:11-12 which says, "11 And he [Jesus] gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ" (ESV). This series will help define the team structure of the Simple Church Collective. Brian is one of the Kansas City local directors who started the Kansas City Underground. The Kansas City (KC) Underground is one of the major influences of the Simple Church Collective. 

During this episode, Scott, Luis, and Brian discussed each gifting the apest. What are the strengths? How do we see the giftings in the scope of a team? What does it mean to be prophetic? We did not answer all of these at this time, but we started the conversation on each gifting. We hope this frames the conversation for the episodes to come.
