For hundreds of years, reading has been man’s way to success, but is it about to be overtaken?
In this episode, Keith talks about why he’s changed his thinking on the value of reading to get ahead.
Amongst other things, Keith discusses:

Hey and welcome to the “Can You Read Yourself To Success” edition of 7- Figure Business Secrets!
Hey morning, actually this is my second, I was actually just on to you, you don’t know this yet, but the episode that you listened to whatever, last week or what, 3 days ago, was actually recorded about 10 minutes ago, yeah?
As you can see I’m sort of stuck in traffic, and I said, “Aw, great, I shall use this opportunity to have a quick chat to you about something that’s been going around in my brain that, yeah this whole idea of reading.”
Sad-Ass Books
So, in case you don’t know, I’m an avid reader.
I love reading and I read the most sad-ass books you can possibly get.
I have hundreds of business books that I’ve picked up in airports and Amazon, all over the world.
And, yeah, it’s quite a sad library, but I love it.
I’ve got books on teams and advertising and sales and business and you name it, I’ve probably got a book on it, which is grand, and there’s a lot of people who subscribe to the yeah, yeah, yeah, read more and you learn more.
BUT, but I was sort of thinking just last week, is that still true, and is that really honestly true?
And do you know what?
A Book A Week
I’m beginning to doubt it, and I never thought that I’d ever hear myself say that MAYBE reading books is not it’s cracked up to be anymore.
And why am I thinking that?
Well for the last, I used to read yeah, probably I’d say about a book a week, maybe a book every 2 weeks, in fact no, a book every week.
You’ d basically hop on a plane and by the time you hit the far side of the Atlantic, you’d be finished, and I was doing that, what 2, 3, 4 times a month.
So yeah, that on its own, was a book a week, never mind everything else.
But, what I realised is lately, yeah, actually it’s all down to Tim Ferris.
Blame Tim Ferris
Tim Ferris, what are you doing to me?
Actually my wife bought me “The Tribe of Mentors”.
I don’t know if you’ve ever seen that book, right?
It’s about that thick, I kid you not.
Big, massive, thick book of almost I think just over a hundred, almost 200 interviews with different people.
Actually, very interesting book.
Basically he’s asked them all the same 7 or 8 questions, like what was your biggest failure, and what was your best buy for a cheap amount of money, and what would you say to someone starting off, and what big quote would you put on a billboard?
So it’s actually very interesting,
1. Listening to people who you know and how they answered the questions, and
2. People you’ve never ever heard about and how they answered it.
And they’re all sorts of people from business people to entrepreneurs to sports people to artists to movie stars to yeah, it’s just very, very interesting eclectic mix.
Eclectic – ay ay!
I must be on my game,
