This is Kelly Orchard’s Apple A Day. Sixty Seconds on wisdom, success and personal growth. In order to grow, we need to feed our minds with new information. It’s time to commit to learning something new every day.
I used to read to my children all the time. We had the entire Dr. Seuss collection and they would pick one out and eagerly listen as I opened the book. Children are hungry for knowledge. As we get older, we often forget that hunger in exchange for the minutia of our daily lives. We wake up, go to work, do our job, drive to the market or the gym, cook dinner, watch television, go to bed, and then start over the next morning.
We fail ourselves when we don’t learn something new. Here’s a challenge for you. Grab yourself a book! Whether it’s a novel, a self-help book or a “how to” book. Make it an intentional goal to learn something new each and every day.
A little wisdom from a children’s book helps us remember to continuously learn.
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” ― Dr. Seuss, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!
