Amy Holland (Dr., by the way - put some respecc on her name) is a clinically adept audiologist with both an exceptional bedside manner AND a withering motherly gaze if she feels like you need taken down a peg or 7. She is also my close friend, former boss & small business owner, proud dog/human-mom, Clinical Director for Acute Hearing (a well-known, reputable, and family-owned hearing business in KY & OH, and my former workplace), and honestly just an overall great person to have in your corner if you're in need of fantastic hearing healthcare, solid life advice, or sarcasm that is both limitless and growth-promoting.
I also promised my kids they could say "hi" to everyone after episode 10, so I exacted a small measure of revenge upon Amy by forcing her to talk to them.
Together, we touch on the increasing lack of human decency on social media, revisit the trials of yet another small business impacted by the coronavirus, what it was like for both of us navigating the closing of her Ascent practice, and her infinite patience with me despite snoring in her lobby and stomping a literal mudhole all the way to my desk.
I hope you enjoy this episode with the type of person I hope everyone has the opportunity to call both an employer AND a friend as much as *I* enjoyed making her visibly uncomfortable because I know she hates compliments. This is, after all, my pod... And I do what I want.
