Last episode was Tag, this time it's Hide-and-Seek. I suppose the next episode is Kick the Can?

Well, probably not (and this hardly constitutes Hide-and-Seek anyway). However, we do get to see Akiho's (formerly Eriol's) home and her suave guardian/butler, Yuna. We also have to wonder how rich Akiho's family is if they can move a whole dang library across continents. And what's up with the naming conventions of this series' cards anyway?

Join us in the garden for some tea and new episode, won't you?

Sakura wants to try out her brand new card, Record, to see what it can do. And where better than the rolling estate of Daidouji Tomoyo? We will never quite get how the staff in her house can ignore how she dresses her best friend in lavish outfits or that there is mysteriously always an extra place set during snack time. But what Tomoyo says goes! And that, apparently, goes for asking for new tech from her mother's company... which is totally normal.

Happy New Year!

In this week's episode Sakura spends a little time with Akiho, who wants to bring her plush bunny to school. A bunny that is definitely/maybe some kind of plot device later - I dunno! That is one suspicious bunny though. Akiho hasn't joined a club yet, so Tomoyo has her practice in the choir room. But what's this? Some kind of card-like presence? Probably! 

We also bring up a range of references like Monty Python, how kids today don't know VHS tapes, and Dragonball despite neither of us really knowing anything about the latter.

(Also a slightly higher ratio of swearing than normal - sorry!)

It's the time of year for glowy, floating cherry blossom petals - it's sakura season!

Sakura and her friends decide to have a hanami (flowing viewing) party at the park where they are cute, prim, proper, and make food way more expertly than Janelle or Stefanie ever will (maybe... probably). But of course there's something causing trouble for Sakura -- in a way that there really isn't any reasonable explanation for, but either her friends are ignorant or just don't care! Either way we get to see food that makes us too hungry.

New episode, new transfer student! Akiho joins Sakura's class and everyone is enamored with this sweet girl. But, of course, something goofy and magical has to bother Sakura at school.We aren't nearly as ranty as usual, but we do end up talking about how hard Japanese is, BTS, and how we'll never get over how unobservant everyone in this disctrict it!

More action! More drama! More rain? Sakura has to deal with not one but two new cards this week. Plus all the boys in her life seem to know stuff is up, but are not great at communicating with Sakura. That is to say they don't communicate at all. Sheesh! On the plus side Tomoyo is back on her game with more cosutmes, and also seems to be a really good magical girl pose choreographer (she could probably create & run an entire Broadway musical by herself imho).

This episode we discuss how... not a lot happens actually. Sakura confides in Tomoyo and Syaoran about the new cards/key, she and Tomoyo bake a cheesecake, and she also gets a new outfit! Oh yeah and there's a new card... there is that. And yet for such a "light" episode we sure have a lot to say!

In this week's episode we finally get a proper introduction to Meiling, who both of us couldn't remember whether she was in the manga or not (she's not). She's Syaoran's cousin -- also fiancée which isn't weird or anything (it is). 

 

There's also one more strange girl who is apparently beating up martial arts people in the park. Sakura has enough to deal with, but looks like the addition of Meiling means she's gonna have to work harder to get those cards.

Sakura put off all her summer homework until the last minute and is in a bit of a bind. Lucky there's people around her willing to help (although some of them aren't doing it for free). A trip to the local library brings up a tricky Clow card, which also turns out to be kinda useless. Also no one really learns anything in this episode. Well done, kids.

Summer's nearly over for Sakura and that means it's time for a festival! It serves the two-fold purpose of being a chance to hang with her friends (and crush) and also put off doing that summer homework some more. Good job, Sakura. Also this is such a chill episode that our characters have time to just sit back and drink tea. Niiiiice.
