The investigation into the disappearance of Kenmare man Michael Gaine has been reclassified as a homicide investigation by gardaí.

56-year-old Mike was last seen in Centra in Kenmare on March 20th.

The farmer was reported missing the following day.

Radio Kerry general manager Fiona Stack gave an update on the status of the garda investigation.

28-year-old Jack Fitzgerald from Castlegregory is climbing the seven highest mountains in Ireland in seven days in May. Of the seven, he’s climbing four in Kerry, including Mount Brandon and Carrauntoohil. He is doing this to raise money and awareness for One in Four. They work with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse in a variety of ways.

Jack is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and has availed of One in Four’s counselling services. He wants to give something back to them because counselling with them transformed his life for the better.
