70-year-old Pat Lawless is from Limerick originally but now lives in Ballyferriter. This Sunday, September 6th, he’ll embark on the 2026 Golden Globe Race on his yacht, Silvermines Hydro. Pat hopes to become the first Irish person to complete and win the gruelling event. Pat is also competing to raise funds for Parkinson’s Ireland; his wife Rita is living with the condition. Pat also took part in the event in 2022 but had to retire when his steering failed. He spoke to Tomás Swords.

Frank Connolly spoke to Jerry about his new book, ‘Exposed: Scandals That Rocked the Irish State’. He also looks at the garda investigation into the murder of an infant – who was called Baby John – in 1984. The dead child was found with 28 stab wounds on White Strand, near Cahersiveen

Sandra Schmidt from Kenmare is a counsellor and therapist. Her eldest daughter Sarah died suddenly at three months old. She helps others dealing with trauma and loss because of Sarah and her desire to honour her. Sandra says Sarah will always be part of the family.

Jerry got a huge response to an email he read yesterday. The email from a listener opined that they had noticed a troubling trend when it came to online condolences. They believe such platforms are being used to play out family grudges or posting inappropriate comments.
