Jerry spoke to the Sinn Féin’s finance spokesperson about the Dáil being called back this Friday to vote to delay increasing fuel excise. Sinn Féin had called for this to be done.

Jerry spoke to Shane Phelan, Mediahuis’ legal affairs editor, about how a New York lawyer who claimed he suffered significant injuries after a fall in an Airbnb in Kerry had his case thrown out by a US court.

The estimated population in the county as of the end of April this year, was 173,000.

That’s according to the Central Statistics Office.

This compares to an estimated population in April 2017 of 146,500.

The HSE is due to decide tomorrow as to whether it will fund the cost of the drug Skyclarys used to help patients with the rare, progressive neuromuscular disease Friedreich’s ataxia.

Enterprise Minister Peter Burke has warned that fuel excises duty cuts can’t go on forever. The Government has decided it will delay the increase due to take place next month. It’ll soon be six months since the US and Israel launched its war on Iran and there’s no end in sight. It’s this conflict that triggered the huge rise in oil prices. Jerry spoke to Children’s Minister Norma Foley about the excise cuts decision and how it may impact spending and tax cuts in October’s budget. The Dáil has been called back from the summer recess to sit this Friday so that the planned excise fuel increases can be postponed.
