Kieran Roberts is 10-years-old; he loves tractors and country life. However, the Ballyfinnane boy is facing into chemotherapy and major surgery as a result of a brain tumour he was diagnosed at the age of six. The community of Ballyfinnane has rallied round Kieran and his parents to launch its Together We Can initiative to help Kieran and other children who are receiving treatment at Temple Street CHI’s (Children’s Health Ireland) neurosurgery centre. On August 31st, there’s a major fundraiser taking place at the Shanty Bar. Jerry spoke to Kieran’s mother Kathy and to Mike Carroll, treasurer of the Together We Can committee.
