Fianna Fáil councillor Norma Moriarty says when there is an electricity outage in the Waterville-Ballinskelligs area, the water supply will also stop. She says Irish Water needs to provide a generator to ensure that the water supply will continue if there's a power outage.

From next Tuesday, October 24th at 8pm until December 15th, it's planned that the N70 Glenbeigh to Cahersiveen road at Gleesk will be closed at night to allow roadworks.

Emergency vehicles will be accommodated during the proposed interim night-time road closures.

Sheila Kelly and her 95-year-old mother want the find out more about the woman who helped deliver Sheila. She was known as Miss Seymour or Nurse Seymour and she helped deliver hundreds of babies in the Killarney area in the last century.  Kerry Today listeners helped to fill in the blanks about a remarkable woman. They shared their stories about Miss Seymour and other midwives and nurses who brought thousands of Kerry babies into the world in an era before social protection, mass transportation, and widespread access to painkillers and many antibiotics. A North Kerry secondary school is working with the Road Safety Authority to educate students about the dangers on our roads.Coláiste na Ríochta in Listowel has been running road safety awareness events for a number of years and has secured the RSA’s shuttle interactive unit. Over 60 properties from this county are listed on the website, Accommodation for the Event, (AfTE). The Ryder Cup, regarded as one of the world's premier sporting events, will be held in Adare Manor in Limerick four years from now.
