We got a box in the mail from our friend the Shepherd, and is was full of spiders. Literal spiders, made of sugar. Which we thought was very cool, until we found the tin under them and found it contained Dried Salted Tarantula. So this box was more than just a cool gift, it was a challenge.
This week, we have not only that, but three beers, a Mexican-inspired pizza, LOTS of sweets, and the usual shenanigans, when We Eat It, So You Don't Have To!
So we got a box. Actually, we received several boxes, but one of them was full of the most interesting candy canes. And, fools that we are, we actually tried them. Every wonder what Clamdy Canes taste like? We do now. We also know about a variety of stroopwaffles, crackers, Oreos, and even a frozen mac & cheese.
So join us this week, when we make those questionable life choices and even more about BBQ Crickets, when We Eat It, So You Don't Have To!
Honestly, this was almost titled "We Shall Never Speak of This Again" because somewhere in here is a food that we will not mention ever again, and are busy obliterating our memories of the existence of it. In fact, this is a food that is only rumored, much like the supposed film between "Highlander" and "Highlander 3", and the often discussed but mysteriously absent sequel to the "Mortal Kombat" movie.
In fact, you really should be glad We Eat It, So You Don't Have To.
Kevin has been avoiding this for MONTHS, and finally broke when there was nothing else new in the co-op beer cooler. OK, Ursula slipped it into the basket when he wasn't looking, and now he's stuck with it. Yes, this week we try Kombucha beer, along with a whole selection of things that came in boxes from all of you.
Hear it here first, when We Eat It So You Don't Have To.
Last weekend our friends Bruce and Tina were in town, and they had brought us food from Canada! Stinky cheese, some interesting treats, and a whole lot of conversation followed. Plus new and interesting ciders, a beer best left on the shelf, and a whole lot of swearing, when We Eat It, So You Don't Have To!
(And yes, we forgot to take a photo - sorry about that!)
I know, we've been remiss in creating new episodes. Between sickness, travel, and not one but TWO storms, bad food hasn't been a priority. So this week we have a little something to tide you over - we unbox our new toy for the kitchen.
Once things settle, we'll be back for more bad food because We Eat It, So You Don't Have To!
While Hurricane Florence raged outside, we took the chance on having power long enough to eat some REALLY shitty foods. Since we had two freezer accidents in the prior 48 hours we had to eat a bunch of things that were on the very edge of completely defrosted. This included three frozen pizzas, two (not really) Mexican microwavable foods, and some cheese bites. On top of that, we went for instant and snack foods, which did our systems no good whatsoever.
Join us while we ride out the Northern Edge of a Category 2 storm, when We Eat It, So You Don't Have To!
Ho boy, do we have some stuff this time around. Aside from the beer, ciders, and icevine, there are new Oreo flavors, Plantain Chips, something called a "Detroit Pizza," and carrot chips.
You read that right : Carrot Chips. And that's just the start of what we have this episode when We Eat It, So You Don't Have To.
The time has come, oh listeners, to take care of the large carb and protein load that has been building in our food selection. Yes, it is time to eat multiple boxed pasta products (mostly mac and cheese), the one bag of pork rinds we have, and a box of pink gummy pigs (I am not making this up) that have been waiting for us since AnthroCon.
We also have a whiskey sour mix, beer, questionable life choices, and at least one brownie this week when We Eat It, So You Don't Have To!
Folks, we have a real doozie of an episode this week, that starts out like any other, and ends with many, many regrets on the part of the participants. Along the way we will have a taco skillet meal, Mothman beer, "grown up" Mac and Cheese, Cider, and a variety of crisps ranging from "good" to "why God why,"
