Why don’t Jesus followers live like they’re dead? Because in Christ, they’ve been raised — and real life means real change.

In this message, Pastor Mark walks us through Colossians 3 and reminds us that new life in Jesus means something in us has to die. Paul doesn’t say manage your sin or reduce it… he says put it to death. The old self comes off. The new self goes on.

In Colossians, Paul calls out a dangerous mindset—what Pastor Mark calls “Jesus + …” living. The Colossians didn’t reject Jesus; they just thought they needed something more. Jesus + the law. Jesus + rituals. Jesus + a little bit of worldly security.

We do the same thing—Jesus + success, comfort, money, approval. But the truth of the gospel is this: Jesus + nothing = everything.

In this message, Pastor Mark reminds us that real living means setting our minds on things above, not on the temporary things of earth. Everything else “goes back in the box.” Only the Kingdom of God and the souls of people last forever.

So live like Jesus rules and eternity is real—because if you have Him, you have it all.

This week in Acts 18:24–19:10, we were reminded that every follower of Jesus is called to be an influencer—not for personal gain, but for the Kingdom.

Apollos, Priscilla, and Aquila used their gifts and knowledge to point others to Jesus. Paul invested in twelve learners who became world changers. And we’re reminded that we have the greatest influencer living within us—the Holy Spirit—who empowers us to make a lasting impact wherever we go.

With His help, we can be people of Kingdom influence.

This week in Acts 18:1–23, we were reminded that God’s mission doesn’t just move forward through the “big names” of Scripture - it advances through everyday people.

Priscilla and Aquila were ordinary tentmakers starting over, yet God used them to disciple others. Titius Justus and Crispus risked reputation and livelihood to follow Jesus. Even Paul struggled with fear and needed God’s encouragement. And God worked through Gallio, an unlikely outsider, to protect Paul.

The same is true for us today. God uses everyday people with everyday problems to accomplish His extraordinary work.
