We pay homage to beloved actress and screenwriter Catherine O’Hara, who shocked us all by dying today. There’s a new red flag in the dating world, with 16% of men picking up hobbies just to boost their attractiveness for the ladies. They’re called “the performative man.” Commuters not paying their fair is a big problem throughout the country but none more than in New York City, where flagrant fare beaters don’t like to pay for their travel tickets! What’s Gen Z into these days? Apparently, it’s dive bars, where the drinks are cheap, the light is dim, and the floor is carpeted.

There’s a lot of great dive bars around LA, and especially in the Valley. Would you eat seafood from a dive bar? Meanwhile, one of the agitators downtown has been arrested for using a slingshot against police officers. Don Lemon was arrested today for his invasion of a Minnesota church with anti-ICE protestors on Jan. 8, interfering with others’ right to worship. Lemon claims he was there in his journalistic capacity. While many restaurants in LA stand symbolically with the “ICE out” protestors, they’re unable to close for business on a Friday night, so they’re finding other ways to show solidarity with the protestors. AI music covers and remixes are getting scary authentic. What does this mean for the future? But due to AI, Liza Minnelli is releasing new music. Is watching your favorite team lose worse than heartbreak? There’s a new booze on the market: bear-poop beer. It will be served at Super Bowl 2026.

A couple lost their home of 35 years in the Palisades Fire. The LAFD called and said before the building permit is issued, the couple has to pay for their own fire hydrant on the street. The quote? $35,000! No other neighbors who are rebuilding had this issue.

Meanwhile, in LA’s Lynwood, TSA officers eating dinner at a restaurant were targeted by anti-ICE protesters in a case of mistaken identity. The anti-ICE national shutdown is happening in LA, with many businesses announcing plans to close tomorrow, including bars and cafes, in support of the protests. The LA Unified School District will also be taking part in the protests. The Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Nicki Minaj helped boost 1 million signups to the Trump Accounts saving plans for US babies. The parent company of Johnny Rockets, Fatburger and Round Table has filed for bankruptcy. These chains were founded right here in California, with Johnny Rockets first opening on Melrose. Apparently, the owner was being investigated by the DOJ for dodgy taxes. We can’t wait for the “Melania” docu-movie!

And if so, by whom? The silent majority speaks!
