On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, KFI’s Heather Brooker speaks with two survivors whose lives were forever changed by the attacks on the World Trade Center.

Kevin Danni was a 22-year-old Occidental College graduate on the 61st floor of the South Tower when the second plane struck. He recalls escaping down the stairwell while firefighters rushed toward the danger and the men and women whose faces and voices he says he still remembers 25 years later.

Lila Nordstrom was a 17-year-old student at Stuyvesant High School, just three blocks from the World Trade Center. She watched the attacks unfold from her classroom and was evacuating when the second tower collapsed. Nordstrom later became an advocate for students and community members exposed to contaminants around Ground Zero and chronicles that fight in her memoir, Some Kids Left Behind.

Now living and working in Southern California, Danni and Nordstrom reflect on survival, the lives they built afterward and what September 11th means to them a quarter-century later.
