One of the second week evening activities following the Lancaster County Super Fair will be a Battle Of The Bands on Thursday, August 9.

Nashville Recording Artist and Veteran Justin Kane will be in concert, with lots of guest artists, Friday, August 10 at the Lancaster Event Center.

Singers, dancers, musicians, and all talents are invited to enter the competition August 7 and 8, part of the second week activities around the Lancaster County Super Fair. The public is invited to attend and enjoy two nights of performances.

Wilber Czech Days will feature an Art Show with work from artists of all ages in media ranging from painting to sculpture to photographs. The show will be open each day of the festival.

The ornaments on the State Christmas Tree, which stands in the Capitol Rotunda each December, will be updated this year. Residents of the State are being asked to submit designs, and those selected will be asked to produce their ornaments.

The Salvation Army of Lincoln provides music lessons and instruments for low income and at-risk youth through their Fine Arts Academy. Donations of instruments and cash both help them carry on the mission.

A group of aspiring playwrights works year-round, each writing one or more plays. 22 new, original, locally written plays are being presented this week during the First Flight Festival.
